I have to admit, given all the rantings of the left to Bankers, their Bank does not seem to be doing too well at all.

Perhaps there is a God?

Sorry, but what makes the Co-op a 'lefty bank'?
For that matter, given that the "righty bankers" also failed rather spectacularly... how can you possibly turn this into yet another right v. Left post? "Ha-ha, you're also not very good at this money-making lark" just doesn't seem a point worth boasting about...
The Co-Op was founded on socialist principles, and their £1 million pound annual donation to the Labour Party might indicate their leanings toward the left.

That answer you SP?

Jim, you would say that wouldn't you, dont want anything lefty looked at do we?

I didnt say the other Banks didnt have a problem just that the left seemed to be all high and mighty and now look at what has happened.
I don't really see that the whole "I would say that" thing applies to me at all. Believe it or not, I don't really identify with the left -- at least, not the far left, whose views just seem extreme. The only bankers I criticise are incompetent ones; their apparent political leanings matter not a jot. Unfortunately, it seems that a lot of bankers have been incompetent.

Anyway, you're making a serious mistake by lumping everyone that disagrees with you in with the "lefties". I am certainly not one of them... so please don't tar me with such a brush just because I disagree with you.

This is why I'm staggered why you have to keep turning everything into a left v. right before the discussion has even started! Utterly ridiculous.

What's with this 'discovered' bit?

Don't these people know how much money they have, or rather, in this case, don't have?

And if not, why not?
Question Author
The problem is you dont so much put a point of view but attempt to belittle those you disagree with. That is a trait of the left, but if I have mis interpreted that in your case then please accept my apologies.

/attempt to belittle those you disagree with. That is a trait of the left/

Can you provide some evidence that is more likely a characteristic of the Left rather than the Right ymb?

Or is it just another dubious, subjective generalisation?
So, what, I guess the shortfall will be covered by the taxpayer, from that £400 million we just happen to keep in the biscuit tin, yes?
I don't attempt to belittle anyone. Where are all these false accusations coming from?

On this site, most of the belittling seems to come, not so much from the left, but from the extremes of both sides. Thus we do see some of those who are probably "far-left" politically, as well as the very far-right, spend much of the debating, such as it is, by point-=scoring and insults. I don't think I can be accused of that.

It's how you often come over jim. Perhaps you dont realize it.
All I try to do is string together a coherent argument. If that comes across as belittling anyone, then so be it. I make no apology for trying to do that. I'm certainly not going to start joining in a "left v. right" battle based on name-calling. Which, frankly, is many times more "belittling" than anything I can be accused of.

If you dont like my style of question, why post then jim?
if you don't like the style of the responses - why do you post ymb?
Question Author
It's my question Zehul.
Of the people on this site I consider to be right-wing, I'd say you're usually worth listening to. We've even agreed in the past. I suppose a question phrased like this is a bit surprising, because it's not even a question, just point-scoring (and, as I suggested earlier, a bit of a bizarre one which amounts to "ha, you're as bad as we were!"); and then I'm saddening that you think I'm trying to belittle you -- or anyone else for that matter.
/It's my question Zehul/

Exactly

It seems boorish to invite responses to a question then bitch about the 'style' of some of them
Question Author
As I said jim, I clearly mis interpreted what you said and I do apologize for that.

I do like differing opinions, it would be a sad place if we all agreed on everything so please do keep posting on my questions.

Thanks -- glad we could come to an understanding.
