Unfortunately no food or drink for 14 hours except an occasional sip of water dot. I know as I've got to have one next week.

Dotty - I have to have a repeat one for cholesterol next week at 9 am. - the practice nurse told me only to have water after 7pm the night before.

When I had a test the nurse refused to do it because I had drunk some sugar free juice!It seems to be water only.The bacon buttie after tasted amazing though

it depends on what blood test your having done as fasting times vary, you should phone the clinic and ask just to be sure,

Fasting means defo no coffee dot, you have to give it at least twelve hours and usually it has to be first thing in the morning.

dot there is only one on your list that you need to fast for.that's the lipids.

if the glucose is your first test you usually don't have to fast, if its a second test and come back abnormal you`ll have to fast.

It'll be twelve-fourteen hours dotty, with water only - the nurse turned me away the time before last because I'd eaten during that time period.

I went last wednesday at about 10.30 and it was a 2 hour wait with these little tickets like you used to get in tescos on the meet counter so i came away.

Blimey, we get an appointment and you have to turn up at that time, whether you go to the nurse at the GP, or the phlebotomy clinic at the hospital. That one's fierce.

my GP was closed on Monday ( they only hae blood clinics mondays) and so i was sent to the hospotal, not had a day off since then when the hospital was open and so I;m going sometime tomorrow,

Eh well, good luck, I hope you don't get the dragon. Mine's on the 14th, got to eat really early on the 13th evening, I will be faint from hunger when I'm done....

I don't care for how long I cannot eat but I do miss those morning coffee mugs :o(((
