They are numbers and a set 0f letters that represent a definite thing and you have to work out what they represent. Some obvious ones are:-

24 H in a D (24 hours in a day - sometimes the small words are given, sometimes not)

7 W O T W (7 Wonders of the World)

10 E in a D (10 Events in a Decathlon)

24 H F T (24 Hours from Tulsa)

They could be anything from song titles and film titles as long as they contain a number. Hope you get the idea now.
