If Man was supposedly created in God's image, Who's image were Women created from?
As the idea of the God is normally male dominated, just thought I'd ask.

Well, I think you will find that "Man" is actually the species so Women would also fall under this classification.

The genders are Male and Female

A bit like a dog and a bitch, they are still both dogs!!

Am I getting into trouble with the female of the species here??
Question Author
Good point Ratt, but it still puzzles me as to the depiction of the God to always be a male of the species, should it (God) be genderless then?
No, the sexes are male and female. Genders are far more complicated ;-)
Hiya Luna, maybe he was half and half, but because men have always been the dominant sex, perhaps they just decided god was a man?

In reality he must have been a man though - a woman would have made far less of a mess of it.

You know that saying "When god made man she was only joking!". :o)

Hello naomi, I think you are right on all accounts but my question arose mostly from curiosity and in some cultures they refer to nature as Mother, moon as Sister and Father sky. Strange ideas but interesting all the same (well, to me anyway).

Yes, that's right isn't it. I can understand Mother Nature because of all the constant reproduction (although all that needs Father Nature too!), but as for the rest I've no idea.
Question Author
Mmm.....Mother Nature, No mention of Father Nature, just God who created everything. The plot thickens.
did you know that Lunatic is an anagram of "in a cult"..
just thought I'd share that with you.
Wow! Well spotted Wiz!
Question Author
Ooh ! I've never been in a cult before.......do you think R&S would be considered as one?
naomi = am I on
theland=had lent (appropriate)
unfortuanatly, dipstick is not an anagram of Mani
Well, mine's pretty accurate - in the circumstances!

Don't know Luna. We seem to be mainly non-religious here - can a cult be non-religious?
Question Author
I don't know for certain. I think they can be anything you want them to be. According to my musty trusty dictionary, a cult can be something popular or fashionable among a particular section of society.
I find this quite amusing really that it's supposed to be a religious section and nearly all of us are non-worshippers.
-- answer removed --
'Cult' is defined as a group devoted to beliefs or practices that the surrounding culture or society considers to be outside the mainstream or reaching the point of a taboo, so Infund is right - it doesn't have to be religious - just odd.
Question Author
Just odd, about sums me up.

Me too Luna! Maybe we should have our own cult!!
Question Author
Okay, you think of a title for it.
Luna ..... you are still with us aren't you? Please say you are.

Can't think of a title off the top of my head - but I'll keep thinking.
