Getting the flat blessed

How do you go about getting your flat blessed? My flatmate is suffering with mental problems right now and although we're trying to get all the medical help that we can, someone has suggested to me that maybe things that have happened here in the past may be affecting him. I'm not particularly spiritually minded but am willing to try anything that can help. I've found some blessings on the net that you perform yourself but would rather have someone come around to do it. Where do I go? Who do I contact? Even if it's just to discuss the options. Maybe it's a waste of time but even if no good comes of it, surely it can't hurt. Any opinions gratefully received... Many Thanks Damo

By your name, Damo, do we assume you're into the occult?
I had my house blessed when I moved in. Just go to your local Church and ask about it.
Go and find a drama student, they're usually up for a laugh.

Thanks jenstar, I did expect a few comments like that ;-)
It's all very well to be dismissive of jenstar but what on earth do you expect when you ask whether your flat-mate's mental problems can be helped by the sort of charlantism you describe? It's tempting to ask whether you have mental problems of your own. Better to analyse and investigate the medical advice he or she is being given rather than abandoning it in favour of superstition. If your flat-mate's problems are serious then they deserve to be treated seriously.
I hesitate to tell him to go to a church, or ask about his friend's problems, because his username is odd.

and I realise that you may think I'm taking the mickey submitting this question with a user name like mine but I have had it for a long time and I was born in June 1966 and my name is Damon. The question was meant in all seriousness, sorry for any misunderstanding
If that's the case and you want the flat blessed, do as Fingerprint suggests, although I can't see how that will help if your friend is so seriously ill. Does your friend realise he's ill and want to be helped - and does he have a family - parents - who could liaise with his doctor to help get him the care he needs?
damo...I realy dont think that getting the religous whackos in will help someone that already has mental health issues.I would take chakkas advice if I were you.
When I was younger I knew quiet a few people that had mental health issues and were involved in the church (of the evangelical kind). Some of them are now dead...suicide, drug overdoses etc. I am not blaming the church for their deaths but talking of "spirits" and sin and guilt certainley didnt help their chances of recovery.
If you'v got any sense you will keep your friend well away from religion while he has problems.
I agree absolutely with Wizard. If you really want your flat blessed then that's your choice, but think very carefully because religion does more harm than good to an already fragile mind, and personally I wouldn't even consider taking your friend down that road.
naomi...I once knew a man who was an alcoholic with depression. Some christians used to meet in his home for prayer and bible study and were convinced that god would help him."we are praying for you friend" kind off thing.
He ended up killing himself in a fit of depression. Their attitude soon turned to one of believing that god had judged him.Iv'e never seen such a lack of love or sympathy in all my life from these so called friends of his who used his home and then villified him when he was dead.
sick b@stards
Wiz, I know, I've seen some of that sort of thing. Christian love? More like mad as hatters and twisted with it!
