Naomis post about ghost is very interesting. It has made me think of other strange things that have happened. Some years ago my father was in hospital, it was impossible for me to be there at the time. One night I was in my house it was 9.30pm I got a very strange urge that I must ring the hospital, he died at 9.30pm that night.

Strange and inexplicable if you are not a believer in a spiritual dimension. On the other hand, maybe God gave you a nudge to ring up, as this was best for you at the time.
I had finally managed to get some sleep after being worried sick about my Mother's condition while she lay in hospital. I suddenly heard my name called and I woke up.
The next second the phone rang.
It was the hospital.
My Mother had just passed away.

Another funny thing, a few days after my mother died I had a dream, I was sat at a table when my mother came and sat down, I kept asking her why she was here because she was dead, she didnt speak, then I called for my father (in my dream) he walked to the table put his arm around her and they both walked off into a light.

ps I'm not mad, but I really believe that there is some sort of energy/presence that we will never understand.
Theland, sorry, you're post isn't quite clear. Do you mean to believe in a spiritual dimension, it's necessary to believe in your god? Could you please clarify that?

Luna, I believe these things do happen, and I've had some very odd things happen too. I haven't time now, but I'll try to get back later.

Pussnboots, had your dad also passed away at the time you had the dream, or was he still alive?
I wouldn't say that my previous posts' explanation was being extra sensory; after all, no one wants to hear that a loved one has passed away.
But that idea sort of coincides with some of the points mentioned on naomi's "Ghosts" thread.
I think that the love of family and some friends is so strong that the bond between certain individuals will always have that connection, maybe even in the dimensions between physical life and the spirit world.
Although as said before, there are those people that have a gift (it could be a curse to some) that are able to control the doorway that let's them see the otherside.
What is interesting is; How do they turn it off? How do they close the door so there is not a bombardment of people from the spirit dimension constantly entering their life, even in sleep?
I am not a believer in a spiritual dimension (whatever that means) but I don't find it at all 'strange and inexplicable'. It was mere co-incidence. The answer to all of these 'I thought of my friend and she instantly rang me' types of story lies in remembering how many times you have thought of that friend and she has not rung you, or she has rung you without your thinking of her first. It would be very odd if that was the first and only time that pussnboots had felt the urge to ring the hospital.
No doubt there are probably many times when these circumstances would be mere coincidences but why?
Why, if you were fast asleep would you hear as though someone were right next to you, your name called and the next second be contacted being told the worst had happened. Even for a coincidence if it hadn't happened to me, I would find that very strange.
Did I want to hear my Mother had died? No.
Did pussnboots want to hear her Father had passed away?No and why at 9:30 and not 8:30pm?
There must be something ... I don't know what though. As a child we were on holiday, and in the middle of the night my mum woke up calling out her Aunty's name. It freaked her out a bit and she phoned her sister the next day, to be told nothing wrong. When we got home from our holiday, her sister phoned and said that their Aunty had died, the night my mother had called out her name, but that she hadn't told us at the time so as not to ruin our holiday.

Their Aunty hadn't been ill, it wasn't expected, we hadn't seen her recently and there is no other explanation for her having been on my mum's mind at the time. You can't say that's coincidence, no matter how cynical or scientifically you look at these things. x
There is no "why?" in co-incidences. They are bound to happen if the laws of chance and probability are operating properly. It would worry me immensely if there were no co-incidences because that would mean that some supernatural force was interfering with those natural laws. That really would be spooky.
That's exactly what I was referring to JanineG.
It's always probable that someone could pass away; But if that person wasn't known to be ill at any time before your Mum called out then according to some people that was just chance that she would call out her Aunty's name just before she died. Mmm.......that has got to be one of the greatest coincidences ever.
If I was standing next to a friend and they went to say something at the same time as me during a conversation, Now that would be a coincidence!
Chakka, do you always put things like this down to coincidence, or would you ever consider the possibility that in some cases something very different is happening?

There are a lot of things that cannot be explained - and I really don't think that all these occurrences can be put down to coincidence. We know hardly anything about the power of the mind, or about the way in which one mind communicates with another. If you don't know the answers, and none of us do - the only thing you can really say with any certainty is that you don't know.
There can be no such thing as ghosts...that being spiritual parts of people left over when they die.
The Bible is clear on this;
(ECCLESIASTES 9:5-6) For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all, neither do they anymore have wages, because the remembrance of them has been forgotten. 6Also, their love and their hate and their jealousy have already perished, and they have no portion anymore to time indefinite in anything that has to be done under the sun.

But who in the spiritual world is aware of what is going on?
It is Satan, and he has the ability to cause people to see things and make it look like it is caused by dead peoples ghosts...which the bible says cannot exist.
Believe the scriptures and believe in demons...they DO exist.
(MATTHEW 8:28-29) When he got to the other side, into the country of the Gadarenes′, there met him two demon-possessed men coming out from among the memorial tombs, unusually fierce, so that nobody had the courage to pass by on that road. 29And, look! they screamed, saying: What have we to do with you, Son of God? Did you come here to torment us before the appointed time?

Even the demons know that Jesus is the SON of God, NOT God himself.
pugwashjw, I'll refer you back to Jesus's conversation with the already dead Moses, mentioned in the 'Ghosts' thread.
