Naomi - // Goodlife, why don’t you take that advice? //

From my experience, the words 'goodlife' 'take' and 'advice' in the same sentence never have an outcome that means anything.
Naomi wrong again (Prov 18-2)
You don't like that bit of the bible then, goodlife?
//Since simple things require a maker, is it not logical that complex things require an even more intelligent maker ? //

Then what made the god? The answers provided by the religious to this question are not actually answers.

Clearly God must be the most complex and intelligent thing possible since something complex always requires something more complex to create it according to their conjecture.

How then then are they are satisfied that this most complex thing possible just happened to eternally exist without a beginning, from nothing at all?

Science explains how everything we see is derived through a handful of simple relationships all the way from a single pixel of amorphous energy billions of years ago to the current Universe in all its complexity.

Surely it makes far more sense that it all began with the simplest thing possible which proceeded to precipitate the complexity we see today, rather than imagine it started out as the most complex thing, whose origin, intelligence and motivation is completely without explanation.
Naomi. 24 [GOD ] invented the Devil

[ Locusts ] Let me ask you hypothetical simple Question . When you were created in your mother womb were you created evil ? and when you was born .? where you evil then ? So then when would you become evil ? Or do you make you self evil or murderer ? Am I a thief or a murderer .[ NO] I tried to follow the rules of the land or country. so that makes me free . How would you know if evil existed if it wasn t explain to you. so the ten command was given to us for a guideline to let us know good from evil ? GOD invented TREES ANEMMLE RIVERS AND MENY ATHER THINGS as a gift of pleasure but how would you know if these gift were good or dad or evil so we need an explanation . Romans 11.33,36 Deuteronomy 32 :4 ,5
1 john, 5 .3.
Locusts, we know because our parents, friends and experience teach us morals. And the majority of people are not naturally inclined to want to hurt someone else. Those that do, still do. But you learn more from your parents before you are anywhere near old enough to read a bible.
In the past, at least, Man has clearly had a need for religion and has invented what suited its purpose as and when, resulting in over 4000 religions. Who's to say which religion is right or wrong when they're all based on faith rather than proof or logic? If you ask me, this is the best "proof" that God as conceived by Man does not exist.
Science, in its different branches, is also thought to have answers to many of the everyday problems of life. Many feel that the answers it does not now have it will soon get, so that eventually man’s problems, such as those concerning food, clothing, housing, disease, and even social and moral problems, will all be solved, don't you watch the news.
Locusts, if the bible is the model without which society would be morally destitute, how do you explain those societies that embrace a moral structure without the benefit of Christianity to guide them?
You can have a go at answering that^ too if you like, goodlife.
Watching a Mother kiss her child, looking at the sunset. Looking at how intricate a human cell is. Seeing how finely tuned the universe is. Any of that help?
@12:56 - What societies won!d they be?
Oh, come on Theland. How do think Buddhist and Hindu societies, for example, have managed? They were around long before Christianity - and they still don't need it.
Have they managed?
3 million gods, holy cows, drinking cow urine as an elixir, war with Muslims, starving millions perpetuated by their ignorance?
And Buddhists? Similar problems, and never spread.
Why your hatred of Christianity I wonder?
What a waste of effort.
Locusts is right.
Christianity gives objective moral absolutes, your lack of belief does not.

Honestly TL, Naomi's "hatred" of Christianity pales in comparison to your hatred of other cultures and belief systems.

//war with muslims// As opposed to The Crusades? How long did that last? A couple of centuries, give or take? Christianity has more blood on it's hands than any other religion. *Even Islam*I

//Have they managed?//

1.5b Muslims
900m Hindus
376m Buddhists.

I'd say they've managed.
Theland, and Christianity has such a wonderful track record? I don’t think so. Like it or not, other cultures survive without the dubious benefits of Christian doctrine.

//Christianity gives objective moral absolutes, your lack of belief does not.//

That sounds rather personal. What do you mean?

The only one here who has mentioned hatred is you. Get a grip. I don’t hate Christianity. I think it’s nonsense.
//Oh no, I'm heartbroken!! Unicorns do not exist??//

maggiebee
Did you know that the name for a group of unicorns is a
'blessing ' ?
//Christianity has more blood on it's hands than any other religion. *Even Islam*//

That’s debatable. Islam has warred since its inception and just 100 or so years on had conquered vast swathes of the Middle East, North Africa, Spain and further afield.

But let’s not get into that. It will derail the thread.
"Did you know that the name for a group of unicorns is a

Unicorns is an anagram of RC's union, not to Pontiff-icate at all but it's clearly a sign that Rome has had the all culled.

Something to do with them being 'too horny'.
