Buddhism isn't a religion, there is no deity.

Buddhists don't believe in a personal God, but Buddhism is a religion.
Guess Scientology is also then.
Yes - but the two can't be compared.
why not, if they're both religions, seems to me that is something to compare.
You compare them then.
OK lets compare how scientology is an ideology for progression in life and development, and then how buddhism is similar in the fact that they believe in karma and spiritual development.
Now how i see it, Scientology feels karma will affect others, but Buddhism feels karma will affect the self. Scientology is a system of fake it until you make it. Buddhism is the exact opposite. That is a comparison.
Is it? Okay.
What a pointless, patronising response Naomi. I thought you'd have more respect for me conforming to your requests.
I haven't requested you to do anything. You disagreed with me and said they can be compared, so the obvious response is do it. I've no interest in attempting to compare them.

Not interested spath.
Someone to blame your failings on.
Naomi//Odd that after lengthy absences both goodlife and idiosyncrasy have returned here on the same day.//

Sheer coincidence. I have been here before but not to question, you must have missed me! BTW I don't get brownie points.
there is no god, only the ideology of god - Spath 0.1 ;oP
idiosyncrasy, a coincidence then. On another thread I asked you which denomination you belong to, but no response. Ay chance of an answer?
When people make up things, they rarely come up with exactly the same story even when the stories share common beginnings.
Naomi@ I don't remember that. I am a Christian. I have no denomination other than I study the Bible.
idiosyncrasy , thank you for replying.
