No one knows for sure whether Jesus had beard or not. Mohammed did... or did he? Since he was rabidly opposed to anyone creating an image of him, we'll never really know. All we have to go on is uncorroborated stories told by people long dead with whom we can no longer interrogate.

Sounds like the perfect scenario within which to create a very tall story...
