There's report on Spotlight (BBC S-West) that vandals have burnt poppy wreathes on the memorial in Crediton.

Unbelievable.

Roasting of them good enough or other tortures that you can come up with?

When I was seven, during a wet lunchtime I wrote a naughty word on the teacher's blackboard, which I quickly erased. However, as with all kids of that age I was grassed up and sent to the Headmistress who made me say out loud the word I had written. When asked why, I said,"Just for fun, miss". She then said, "I'm now going to smack you, do you know why?" I answered,...

That's disgusting. They were 14/15, so hopefully they'll learn yet.
No, I am not up for roasting vandals or wanting to propose other methods of torture.

I would rather let the police investigate and then hand to the CPS for justice to be done.
Make them watch factual films of war and get veterans of all ages and conflicts to speak to them about the horrors of battle.

Little ***.
For the love of the wee man... I wrote ***... Since when is that offensive?
A bucket of soapy water and a toothbrush each and scrub the memorial clean, or wheel out the ye olde village stocks maybe.
Thing to do is not roast them. Just feel sorry that their minds do not work properly, then throw the book at them.
Name and shame . Let everyone know who they are .
Let's hope they find them and shame them and equally important find out why at 14/15 years old they were wandering the town at 1.15 am.

Despicable thing to do.
I like 2sp's suggestion too.
When I was in the USSR in the 70s most places had what was called "The Board of Shame" in a prominent place in which people (mostly adolescents) guilty of anti-social behaviour were caricatured and named. A common threat to those misbehaving was, "You will end up on the Board of Shame".
a bit like the street of shame - aka Fleet Street

and at work we had a 'wall of shame' - actually for people who had had article published see above
"The Board of Shame"

That is known as the board of directors where I work, Blackadder.

Good idea that though.
Dosn't the word vandals come from a place where they came from ,or have I been at the hooch again.
when 'they' get then - they will explain that they did it 'for fun' or because it was funny

if you remember hooligans chucked a non-swimmer into a canal and watched him drown and this was the best they could come up with [ they chucked him in because it was funny ]
Vandal

a member of a Germanic people that ravaged Gaul, Spain, Rome (455), and North Africa in the 4th–5th centuries.
Name of a Germanic tribe, who caused unnecessary damage.
// Dosn't the word vandals come from a place where they came from ,or have I been at the hooch again //

from a place called Vandalia ?

or it could be the name of a tribe - German - and there arent many germans words recorded BC - which meant wanderer.

only they wandered to Rome and sacked it (456 AD)

BlackadderV: Now if the headmistress said that, you'd reply "Then I'm going to sue you miss".
