I had a visit from our baptist minister today who arrived in a heavy snow storm to yet again to try to save my soul. You've got to admire his efforts .

I had just had an email from an American friend who is a bit religious ,but this prompted the minister to say the US is a godless state.

However in our chat he said:
"In the US, religion is separate from the state but is used by everybody
as a part of everyday speech."

Whilst in the UK the Church of England is the state
religion and ignored by everybody.

Is there a moral in that somewhere ?

I'm sure I could make up a moral for you, but what is a baptist minister?
Question Author
He's a minister that serves the Baptist Churches in this country . They are independent of the state . They are a 'free church ' and not paid for by the state. If you go on to Google you can get a better desription.
