People often forget they have brains when it comes to a topic such as hell. Many persons will ponder on financial or other matters, but when hell is the subject they seem to prefer that someone else do the thinking.

hi good life .hell can be many things. As you are always quoting from the holy writings. what is the truth about hell in the Bible. And what is the Bible pointed view. in my opinion hell is death and not a place of everlasting fire.??? and you say god and Jesus are of love ,so why is your soul tormented the rest of your time in hell if you fail to please him .

Who knows. Is heaven beautiful? Nobody has ever come back and told us. I think people spend far too much time worrying about the 'next life' instead of concentrating on this one. We get one life as far as we know, live it, love it, enjoy it, it's not a rehearsal.
Goodlife - “... Job was a faithful servant of God. Trying to break Job’s integrity, the Devil placed Job in a miserable state of affairs...”

The Devil did indeed punish Job. But you've missed out one crucial piece of the story – The Devil did it with God's express permission and complete compliance. God was 'in' on the torture of Job since He had made a wager with the Devil that Job could not be turned away from Him.

The story of Job is one often touted as a 'good' biblical story in that it tells of one man's true faith. It is, in fact, the opposite. It is an appalling story of the deliberate torture of a human being. It tells the tale of God making a bet with the Devil over the matter of a man's faith. The Devil wagers that he can make the man renounce God. God believes otherwise. And the fix, as they say, is in.

However, God is Omniscient and so would already know the outcome of such a wager. Therefore, knowing that Job will never turn away from Him, He allows him to be punished and tortured anyway. God then claims victory over the Devil.

The real shame about this story is not the abject absurdity of it nor the obvious contradictions contained within it. It's the fact that you and other cretins like you think that this somehow portrays your God in a good light.
Well, as it's a fictitious place in a story book and you, Goodlife, claim to be holding the aces, maybe you could tell us ?

DT@Thanks, keep up the good work, so it nice place then.

BTW it was not where I got is from, it said this is NOT an official website, But is also said to those who are not Jehovah’s Witnesses, we wish to remind you that the official website is JW.ORG.
Birdie@ // The real shame about this story is not the abject absurdity of it nor the obvious contradictions contained within it. It's the fact that you and other cretins like you think that this somehow portrays your God in a good light//

Wrong -the simple fact is that God’s said: If I did not speak, and no other agent could be found, the very stones would cry out.” (Lu 19:40):
Goodlife, //Wrong -the simple fact is that God’s said: If I did not speak, and no other agent could be found, the very stones would cry out.” (Lu 19:40): //

What on earth are you talking about? It’s clear that you are quite aware that Birdie's account of the story is accurate otherwise you wouldn’t attempt to dismiss it with an unconnected verse written millennia after the alleged event – and all of this from a book that is purported to contain no contradiction! You’re in denial, Goodlife. If you had the slightest sense of morality you would concede that with friends like your spiteful and arrogant God, poor old Job needed no enemies.

In answer to your question 'Is Hell Hot', if you're wrong, as many people who have read the same book think you are, you might find out one day. Now there's a thought. ;o)
Is goodlife on the knocker in AB, trying to make converts?

If so, the great slabs of cut & paste, the refusal to answer questions and the blinkered, argumentative attitude are having the opposite effect.

One version of Hell would be to sit in the infernal Starbucks with no coffee, and with only goodlife for company!

How am I to know which is the right, Oh well rather than be undernourished and eventually die with false religions, I will be spiritually strong with the right religion.

“Choose life in order that you may keep alive, you and your offspring, by loving Jehovah your God, by listening to his voice and by sticking to him, for he is your life and the length of your days.”—Ps. 34:8, True.
Goodlife - do you get JW credit for the number of words you post, regardless of their total irrelevance?
Venator,// Is goodlife on the knocker in AB, trying to make converts?

This has been said in the past to others trumpeting their various flavours of ‘faith’. They do their cause no good whatsoever. Rather than encourage people, they put them off for life, but they can’t see it. Still, as they constantly say, ‘there’s none so blind …’, and all that. :o)
Goodlife, //How am I to know which is the right,//

You've asked the question, but you haven't answered it.
Wasn't there some research that said cooling brains makes for better decision making etc if so perhaps the OP would do well to hope for the Ice hell of the Norse gods...
.yes hell is what to make it. Or possibly the way you think. It can be a problem in which everyday life is. what is the Bible view point ??. That can be a mystery. Or not.???
A answer from birdie1971 I think he's answer is incorrect
Yes this is a remarkable story of job because you have looked at it from one point of view, and other people look at it from another point of view. and it show a variation in the way that people think. but is it god s thinking ,his ways are higher than our way, he has created us, so that makes him more superior to us if you believe in the Bible, but many people are skeptics and think they know better, at times , so back to your answer . but there are two sides to every story. now God allowed Satan to go so far actually, it goes to show s that inperfect man can overcome Satan, you also have to remember that job did not know why he was being persecuted and that inperfect man can overcome problem if he has great faith in his God the creator must have given him special faith to complete his task and prove Satan a liar.
You have to remember that Satan was calling the creator a liar( and their were many many angels in the attendants listening to the argument).. and Satan was trying to prove he was superior to the creator or score or points . the creator does not make deals with how leave their proper place and try to make themselves superior ... Do you think there's anything different today when a person is torture for his country and for his queen or king. For his loyalty is this not the same.
cupid04, I cut myself off from your God many years ago. So if I am now in hell I can assure you that it is a very happy, loving and fulfilling place.

Gosh, imagine being in heaven with all those weird religionists and narrow-minded bigots like the Archbish of Westminster.

I'm not sure about the whole of hell but I do know that there's a special corner reserved for roasters.
Goodlife, //People often forget they have brains when it comes to a topic such as a converts some prefer that someone else do the thinking. //

Would you mind rephrasing that? If you mean converts prefer someone else to do the thinking, I agree - but I'm not sure you mean that.
I am looking forward to Hell. No worry about bad cholesterol and barbecued sausages every night. All the good girls are in Heaven, but the bad ones are in Hell.

Hell yeah!
