For people using certain browsers, if long links are posted anywhere in a thread, the right hand side of the text of all the posts disappears under the adverts, rendering the posts incomprehensible. The Ed is aware of the problem and the technical people are working on it, but in the meantime, if we could avoid posting long links, at least we’ll all be able to read what everyone else has written. I hope you don’t mind me asking. Thanks.

A good request naomi, they are very difficult to understand with bits missing.
Thank you naomi - I was trying to read a post earlier, and everything had shot off to the right. I gave up.
For those that want to post a long link something like the google url shortener could be used, here http://goo.gl/

It will shrink the link for you, For example the link to this very question is http://goo.gl/r3AJ9
Doesn't appear to be just links, Naomi. On IE8 and XP, I seem to be losing all the right hand side of text that would perhaps be expected to display under the ads.

Ron, that's because Iggy's demonstration is a link to this thread.

Having said that, I haven't a clue how the shortened links he suggests work. Any chance of a bit of a tutorial Iggy?
Simply paste your link in the box provided here > http://goo.gl/

Click on [Shorten URL]

Then copy the shortened URL (provided to the right) substituting that for the original.
