'But the Lord sent out a great wind into the sea, and there was a mighty tempest in the sea...'
Proof, if proof were needed, that God is an Obama supporter. The storm he sent has surely scuppered Romney's chances.

Really? Wonder how that spin would go down with the GOP over in the states - that god was a democrat? I can imagine swathes of republicans keeling over with coronaries now ;)

Whether your force of nature namesake favours Obama will be very dependent upon whether it has a significant impact upon voter turnout and early voting, which have traditionally bolstered democrat support.

Mitt must be cursing though - maybe a better message would be that god hates mormons? :)
Did their special underwear protect them?
...and killed how many people in the process?????

Surely an holy appearance by His Nibs to stop the storm would have convinced the world that He is good and put all the Atheists to shame. No such danger though.
Actually, I am surprised by you sandy. I have always thought of you as one of the good godly ones, but now I find that you taking this tragedy to try and proof a point very sad.
I thought it was pretty tasteless too, Wildwood.

I believe that God rolled the dice, set the Cosmos in motion, and stood back to admire his handiwork. He rarely meddles in the humdrum affairs of mankind, but when he does show his hand it's worth remarking.
When he reprimanded the Bishop Jenkins, for his intemperate remarks about The Immaculate Conception with a thunderbolt aimed at York Minster, there were those here in AB who said it was a natural phenomenon, nothing more. Maybe...
If it was necessary to sink Romney's election campaign with a massive storm, then so be it. Better a small tragedy than a great one.
The end justifies the means.
^ He could have minimised the killing by just having Romney run over by a bus.
I fear your you actually serious Sandy.
Question Author
Would Romney be seen dead under a bus?
Is God Argentinian?
Why traumatise the bus driver? What's he done?
baza...perhaps the bus driver had to swerve 3 times before he it him?
// Why traumatise the bus driver? What's he done? //

Well yes, exactly. He could have zapped Romney with a thunderbolt like the one he zapped York Minster with according to sandy, or just written a message in the sky saying 'vote Obama'.
There are plenty of better options than hitting New York with a hurricane.
I'm beginning to suspect that god is not as omnipotent as he/she/it is cracked up to be....aaaaagh
Bringing a non-existent God into the equation is just plain stupid. Nature will do what it does. No one commands it and no one can stop it,
So is God political then ?.
Question Author
Yes, he is. He was on our side in the Great War and parted the Red Sea to allow the Hebrews to escape from Egypt. Just to name a couple of political acts of his.
Ah, righto then, sandy.
With Sandy's apparent intimate knowledge of what God is up to, I hesitate to ask what He might have been doing with . . . the other hand? :o/
^^ Sperlatt! :o)
