Yes, i understand recent years have not shown Islam in a good light, however other religion have and are doing bad things aswell, yet there is less hatred for these than there are for islam. Why?

Also people dont seem to understand the term "minority". Only a minority of muslims do bad things yet the whole religion is blamed. Again, why?

keyplus You are personally not being judged but your words are your words they are not the words nor the sentiments of many Islamic states and groups throughout the world.

I wonder if you do ? Hundreds of thousands of Muslims rioted against Rushdie and against the author of the Muhammad cartoons . The publisher was in fact murdered. S
I am not condemning Islam on religious ground . As a an atheist I think all religion is bunkum but if I were to deface or burn the bible or make cartoons about Jesus Christ would thousands demand a death penalty.

Now I know in the Middle Ages especially in the Roman Catholic world with the inquisition there was great cruelty but that was several hundred years ago. Nowadays apart from a few fanatics that is not the case.
For an answer to the original question see page 24 of last weeks London Sunday Times - 'Today Timbuktu, tomorrow the world. An Islamist force that has seized much of Mali, spreading terror, is warning the west it will be next.'
Keyplus, //If anything has no place in a civilised society then there is nothing to worry about as it should die off itself for a very simple reason that civilised people will reject it.//

That’s the whole point. Civilised people are, quite rightly, rejecting it – as many of the posts on this thread demonstrate. However, you and your fellow believers are not rejecting it - you’re accepting it and you’re embracing it - so what does that make you?

//Although I believe my words does not need adding as it covers everything and most importantly EVERYONE. You just wait and see.//

So what are we waiting to see? Muslims coming to the west to show us the way, the flag of Islam flying over Downing Street, marriages of grown men to children becoming acceptable, female genital mutilation becoming acceptable, and Allah hanging us upside down whilst you laugh from behind the wall? Yes, indeed, you’ve told us //As far as the domination of Islam is concerned. Truth always come out on top, sooner or later. You believe it or not. Your problem.//

All that has come from you, Keyplus. Is that what we’re waiting to see?
Raleigh, is this the news you're referring to?

Doesn't he do irony? I would find it all very funny if it weren't such a scary prospect.

"Even if they (western forces) don't come here, when we have finished conquering France, we will come to the USA, we will come to London and conquer the whole world. The banner of Mohammed (peace be upon his head)"
Madmen all.
As I said Naomi, just a minor of muslim terrorists which the majority agree with their actions to achieve their islamic domination of the world.
Yes naomi.

Kinda ruins the oft repeated argument that it is Israel oppressing the Palestinians that causes Islamists to attack the west. Doubt if this lot even know where Israel is.
Jomifle - You give me the definition of Innocent and before you even give that I would agree with your definition. Now let's see what you call an innocent.

And I am still waiting if few other condemn the way I did. Didn't I say many wouldn't.
Keyplus, you can tell me what you think the word 'innocent' means. I am quite happy for you to look it up in a dictionary if you are not sure.
Keyplus, no answer to me then? Thought not.

I'll condemn your statement - because your definition of innocent is not my definition of innocent. Stop with your devious tricks. Some of us have seen them all before.
Keyplus, if my post is too difficult for you to address, why don't you give LazyGun's post from the first page - and Krom's - a bash?
↑ Because he's completely incapable of doing so. Where religion and reasoning are concerned, Keyplus is a one legged person in an a!se kicking contest.
Why? The usual government generated hysteria that has plagued us since time immemorial aided by fascist rags like the Daily Mail.
Keyplus - “... For example Naomi and Birdie will not repeat my words without adding something into it...”

What are you talking about you silly little man? When have I added something to your posts?

I challenge you to give me a specific example of such an instance.
Birdie, I presume he's talking about this.

//“I condemn killing of any innocent person, of any religion (or of no religion), of any race, any colour, of any country by any individual or state, by any means and anywhere in the world” //

..... which is why he has been asked to define 'innocent'. He's avoided giving an answer to that - but considering in his opinion Muslim terrorists weren't responsible for 9/11 etc, that's no surprise. They were 'innocent' you see. :o/
This discussion is not getting anywhere because you can not get through to people who are in a state of self hypnosis. I am referring especially to the rituals involved in religious belief . The more a ritual is used the more it is ingrained in the brain . Islam is the classic case with their 5 times a day praying. This creates a state of mind which is open to any suggestion that the imans make in the mosque and when a message comes from an Iman like Khomeini that is like the word of Muhammad himself.
Chanting a mantra is an example of this repetitious brain washing as is used in
Hinduism and Buddhism. In the western world Roman Catholicism is the prime example of the power of ritual.
My point is, logic and reason alone can not overcome blind ritualistic induced hypnotism.
Interesting statistic from the last UK census

Muslims 2.7%

That's a considerable minority, and if only a minority of that headcount are behaving as terrorists or extremists, that's a very small percentage of the whole population - yet they are extremely high profile.
Modeller, //My point is, logic and reason alone can not overcome blind ritualistic induced hypnotism.//

It’s a good point, but when people are either exposed to it from birth, or subsequently willingly abandon their intellect to the ramblings of madmen, how do we stop it?

Boxtops, it is a minority that are behaving in that way – but the majority don’t stand up and openly denounce them – not least for fear of their own safety - and therein lies the problem. As I’ve already said, other groups don’t create such controversy and until we stop excusing this appalling philosophy simply because religion tells us it must be respected and everyone is entitled to believe as they will regardless of the effect that has on others, it isn’t going to change. They are not entitled to believe as they will regardless of the effect it has on others. People have to face reality and start saying ‘no – this is not acceptable’.
