Many scientists insist that there is no God. How, then, do they explain the wonders of creation, including humankind? They attribute such marvels to evolution, a blind force based on chance.
In the normal course of things, we know that nothing happens in isolation. Anything that happens can be traced, eventually to what caused it. For instance we ask , “What caused this?”, “Why did it happen?” “When did it start?” or “Where did it come from?”
As we investigate the cause we never reach a point where we can stop.
You only have to look at law enforcement with regard to accidents or major incidents. They use the principle of cause and effect to determine what or who was responsible and how it happened.
Therefore, we must face the question of the First Cause.
We know that energy is needed to produce matter. The larger the matter, the more energy is needed.
There are two “Laws” demonstrated in everything around us. These being:
1. There is no new mass/energy coming into existence anywhere in the universe, and every bit of that original mass/energy is still here.
2. Everytime something happens (an event takes place), some of the energy becomes unavailable.
In simple terms, every cause must be at least as great as the effect that it produces—and will, in reality, produce an effect that is less than the cause. In other words, any effect must have a greater cause.
When this universal law is traced backwards, one is faced with the possibility that there is an ongoing chain of ever-decreasing effects, resulting from an infinite chain of ever-increasing causes. However, what appears more probable is the existence of an uncaused Source, an omnipotent, omniscient, eternal, and Primary, First Cause.
Humans are unique from every other living organism in the world, specially created and specially purposed. The Earth is also like no other planet, specially created by God for humans, and we can observe evidence of His design elements in His creation.
Science is constantly unravelling new secrets about the universe and the life that thrives on our planet. Nonetheless, scientists and laymen alike still face such fundamental questions as these: How did the universe come to be? What existed before that? Why does the universe appear to be expressly designed to support life? How did life arise here on earth?
Science still cannot really answer such questions.

Annadomino….<<At least the Plymouth brethren only berate you in the street on their soapboxes, unlike those who come on here and target the same people day after day on the internet.>>
Do they now? Umm….
Beso…..<<Your faith that he will ever do anything is just that, a faith without basis beyond some silly stories written by ignorant men long ago.>>
Who says they were ignorant men? You? How do you know? Were you there? Some of those men were probably far more intelligent than you!
Another cutter and paster at it. Do they stop or is it Ekderman in drag?

http://www.icr.org/first-law/ and a whole host of other references like passionsoulsministries if you google "When this universal law is traced backwards, one is faced with...."

Do these folk think we are intellectually blind and/or stupid?

Wait for the personal insult coming my way.
So Mymom what you are saying in effect is that when god to created the universe he was bigger than the universe, but over billions of years he has dwindled to almost nothing which is why he is un-detectable now.
More to the point, MyMoms OP (yet again! another poster offering an unattributed cut and paste post) shows a profound misunderstanding on the part of those of such a fundamentalist world view of basic laws of physics - either wilfully, in order to mislead the faithful, or because they are simply unable to comprehend.

Further evidence of this lack of comprehension, or wilful misrepresentation is the comment about evolution - that evolution depends on blind chance - shows a complete and utter incomprehension of the basics of biology. Evolution does not rely on chance - natural selection is the driver of change.

This is what having a faith - belief in the absence of evidence - gets you. You take, on faith, unsubstantiated antiscientific screed and attempt to present it as a serious alternative to the established science.

Humans are not unique from other species in the world, as a moments reflection of our shared DNA shows you.

This is what I mean - this is an example of someone rejecting established, uncontested science because they view the world through the prism of their fundamentalist faith. This twisted worldview, this rejection of the realities of the world is consistent with all of these ridiculous sects.

Actually, I have not pasted from the site you mention. I have books and yes, I have copied sentences from them, I admit it. After all, isn't that what study and research is all about? And I am certainly not stealing anyone's work or ideas any more than you do when you read and quote or use the work you have read.
As to considering you stupid/ intellectually blind etc. you said it, not me!
Question Author
jomiflo... God is full of dynamic energy. His energy knows no bounds and he is not restricted by anything that humans can conceive or know of.
It's ok copying and pasting and quoting etc etc BUT prove there is a god and then we may be able to answer. You are assuming and that's not good enough...prove that it/she is there and then you will be cooking on gas.
Mymom, intelligence does not preclude ignorance.
Mymom, now you are just being silly, that statement is completely unjustifiable and you must surely know it. Did someone tell you that and you actually believed them?
@ Mymom - copying and pasting without attribution is dishonest - it deprives the reader of checking the original source, and more importantly passes off as ones own work. There are far too many similarities in the bulk of your post to ICR and other creationist websites for it to be an accident, unless you are claiming the origination of the work? If not from the specific site that DT mentioned, it is from one or several similar sites.

The "science" you present as evidence of your study and research is fundamentally, fatally flawed, and this is all because your faith gets in the way of the science.

If you wish to have faith, thats fine I guess- with 2 provisos - 1. Stop the sanctimonious preaching. 2. Stop the misrepresentation of science in a vain attempt to cloak your faith in something other than blind belief.

You can say what you like. But I assure you I have not taken this information from any website. I have a library of CDs and Books which I watch and read. Also there is a lot of information in the public domain which has no copyright. But as I said, I have not taken this from any known sites so cannot attribute the work. The cds I have were given me by friends in another country and were not literary works but discussions and debates.
My faith does not cloud science. Science and the Bible do back each other up on many aspects.
i believe in god, he created us and everything around us

But thank you for the link. Another one I can now read up on!!
Mymom, and chance of answering my question?
*any*

What question was that Naomi?
//as far as I'm aware the authors of the Gospels are unknown, but perhaps you have access to evidence proving otherwise? If you have, I'd be very interested to see it. //
so, as a person of faith...you waste your money on books and cd's of utter drivel - rather than giving and supporting others in need? i'm not a believer anymore, but i donated two sacks of clothes and foodstuffs today (that i would normally have thrown out) and £20 to my local shopkeeper who is organising aid relief for her local community in the phillipines who have experienced terrible floods (presumably caused by your lovely god you so rave about). i did this because she is a lovely lady, there are clearly people who are in need and i was motivated to help - completely altruistically, or i could just have ignored things completely. far more useful, i think, than telling others what they should be doing. lead by example and i think maybe others would take you a little more seriously. your posts demonstrate nothing of christian value, just bigoted and unsubstantiated drivel. shame on you.
