I am patient with stupidity, but not with those who are proud of it.

Goodlife, I'm not sure who that question is to, but more devout to what?
<<are you saying atheists more devout than those who believe in a god?>>

devout adj : devoted to a pursuit, belief, or mode of behavior

who do you think has stated that view?
to the false idol, the graven image, that passes for the rational of atheism?
sandy

that's just sour grapes aimed at people who haven't subscribed to the fantasy
That 'rational' should have had a final E.

Maybe some atheists choose to be "devout", I don't know. I can't control what other people think?
//Why Do Some Say,Thank God I'm An Atheist...//

Because without a god there would be nothing for an atheist not to believe in rendering the atheist non-existen . . . * poof! *
//Maybe some atheists choose to be "devout", I don't know. I can't control what other people think? //

Does anyone know what he's talking about?
A belief in the bleak certainty of nihilism must be a hard cross to bear.
Tut! Naughty, naughty, Sandy.
LOL

Can one be re-born as a nihilist?
//Why do some say,Thank god I'm an atheist...//

Well you you see, Atheist have a sense of humour, thank God! :-)
//Can one be re-born as a nihilist? //

What, you mean like a Born Again Nihilist? :o)
Or a Nihilist Fundamentalist?
Coo, now that's really dodgy.
I think Im a Nihilist extremist!
Thank god is a saying. I use it now and again without thinking. However I do realise that I've said it, usually, but don't let it bother me.
I use 'Thank Heavens'

it seems to me more fact-based (as clearly you can see them when you look up) and perhaps a tad Pagan even - which is nice.
God must surely weep to see the people that he gave so much for mock him so cruelly.
Had you all been in Jerusalem that fateful Friday, Ratter might have fashioned the crown of thorns, Zeuhl carried out the scourging at the pillar, and Naomi held their coats while they did it.
Repent while there's still time.
Apart from the fact that;

all that is a fairy story ( i don't think they had fridays in Jerusalem) and those events as described in the writings of many years later are highly improbable with no contemporary substantiation ....

wasn't that Jesus in the story? who was the son of god? but was also god at the same time? so was talking to himself (so setting a precedent for later followers i suppose) and who was the holy ghost anyway?

No sorry. You can't take bits of earlier cults mix them all together and then try and pretend it really happened. It's ridiculous.

Pardon us if we don't feel guilty about pointing that out.
