Islam forbids alcohol - that joy is reserved for paradise.
Allah’s curse falls on ten groups of people who deal with alcohol.

The one who distils it;

The one for whom it has been distilled;

The one who drinks it;

The one who transports it;

The one for whom it has been brought;

The one who serves it;

The one who sells it;

As Keyplus points out, Islam made rules to overcome problems such as men who took as many "wives" as they wanted.

However like the other religions, Islam's first rule is that the rules are permanent thus locking out any possibility for further improvement and leaving its adherents stuck with primitive concepts of morality.

Abrahamic religions are firmly rooted in fascist ideology.
Which came first? Abraham or the fascists?
Religion= Male domination. DISCUSS.
Depends on the religion Daisy- you should come to a Pagan Moot.
DaisyNonna:
/// Which came first? Abraham or the fascists? ///

Fascism is the most primitive form of social order. It predates modern humans. Rules are set arbitrarily by a dominant oligarchy and brutally enforced upon all.

Theories of social order have progressed and those who seek a particular rule of order are expected to justify it. If the society does not want the rule then they are able to remove it.

Religion propounds that the rule of order is by decree of an imaginary being and that it is beyond question. The ruling oligarchy insists they have special ability to interpret the intent of the laws. That is fascism.

The fact that Abraham did not invent fascism no more justifies his flavour of it than an argument that Hitler was ok because he did not invent fascism either. Fascism is fascism and however popular some forms may be, none deserve our respect.
Ok, where should I start from? Because as usual when it comes to Islam, this question is also going off the track. Main reasons are usually are anti Islamic websites where knowingly (and most of the time unknowingly) people end up. You type word Islam in google and about 80% websites although will sound very Islamic but will be anti Islamic. Their main objective is to spread misinformation.

Daisy – Islam does talk about virgins in the paradise but people in the west had never been worried about that until few people trained by the western countries (at some stage of their lives) started blowing themselves under the illusions. Simplest answer would be that if I want to go to paradise then my primary objective would be to be with my creator. However if you have in your mind what I believe you have then why not refer to this link and you may get all the answers as someone had asked the same kind of question.

Eddie – That is the reason I asked you to provide me where in Quran it is what you claimed because once again you probably heard somewhere or saw on an anti Islamic website. Surely you could not differentiate between Quran and Hadith. I have seen all the websites you are giving me. But I do hope for anyone who seriously is interested in learning anything about Islam (or anything else) then they should not stop once they have been on an anti Islamic website and must then read the response from Islamic websites too. However if someone is only interested in finding questions and not the answers then no one can help them. To answer your question I would only say one thing that you are not the first one and I would not answer that question here. The reason is that this question has been answered so many time here.
Cont:
However if you are really interested to know why (if) Muhammad married a 9 year old then post another question.
Onetoomany- I don’t grade myself anything more than a person who looked and learned. I owe to answerbank for that. When I joined this website and declared I was Muslim I was bombarded with questions. Even after four years few questions keep on repeating and the reason are clear. Few people are just here to spread propaganda. However I stick around, searched and learnt about my own religion. First book I believe anyone should read is this,

http://www.amazon.co....s-Eaton/dp/0946621470

http://www.amazon.co....graphy-Prophet-Karen-
Armstrong/dp/1842126083

Because this is a book written by a non-Muslim and it gives insight and history with references that when and where “fabricated” stories about Muhammad (pbuh) started and why even after 1000 Years people in the west still believe in those fictional stories and come up with questions like EDDIE51 has asked. Then there are few good Islamic website,

http://islam.thetruecall.com/

http://irf.net/

There was another website www.islamonline.net but seems to have disappeared.
Then this Site full of rebuttals,

http://www.answering-christianity.com/ac.htm

Then you can always watch peace TV for most of your qu

That's already been done before on AB, Eddie, let's not go there again.
onetoomany, you could look here http://www.islamic-fo...org.uk/User/Home.aspx
The Islamic Foundation is in Leicestershire - I know several people connected with this organisation - it supports people interested in Islam and also holds conventions and meetings for converts and those thinking of converting. They have an excellent bookshop list and will do mail order.
Note to Beso. you won't get an answer from DaisyNonna, she just likes to make infallmatory remarks/ insults and then ignore any intelligent responses to them, at least in the several times she's done it to me she does.

Beso.. I think Sandy meant 'by all means drink alcohol but do so secretly'
Eddie - If you think that the website "answering Islam" has something for you to think about or believe then why don't you give go to "answering Chrsitianity" as well. It may tell you something. After all for someone who claims to have open mind should welcome all sorts of views.

As for your question, I said earlier and boxtop also mentioned that it has been debated here before. But I honestly am willing to go through all that again if you put a new question. And even by asking for that it shows my intentions that I am not a person who would avoid any thing. Otherwise I could have done that so easily here.
Christ, Eddie - back then and in Mediaeval times the Vatican Popes and their Cardinals and Bishops had a lot to answer for as regards to philandering and youngsters. Has much changed in the Catholic Church by the way?

Also bear in mind what was the age of life expectancy back then - 30, 35 years old?
-- answer removed --
Maybe it's like Bill Clinton and his student joint; you can sip it, but mustn't swallow.
First all it would be unwise to compare things with what was right or wrong 1400 years ago. Then life expectancy, then so many more. And as I said I have debated all this so many time here and remember once we were upto over two hundred posts and still no gain. Because majority of the people here unfortunately have fixed agenda and know what they want to hear or see.

Otherwise if someone has to talk about age of consent then it is still 13 in Spain. It was just 10 in USA not long ago. And what would you call someone 9 years and 350 days old? 9 or 10? I know what most of women would. But as I said these character defamation started 400 years after Mohammad (pbuh). If you want to know the complete history then read the book I mentioned above.
"it would be unwise to compare things with what was right or wrong 1400 years ago".
Isn't this precisely what a large majority of muslims are doing?
