Fluff should know....I'll point this question out to her.
far as i know its ok, been a while since i snogged anyone in KL but it has been done :-)

how are the travels lumi?
in malaysia any public displays of affection are not tolerated, especially when travelling on the eastern coast. here, it is generally felt that men and women should retain a respectable distance between each other when in public.

Seems it is frowned upon but unlikely to result in arrest, more likely a warning to stop.

Have you got a short-list of people you're likely to want to be puckering up with.........?;o)
i just rang my mum, cos i can't ever remember a problem and she says in the bigger cities it isn't an issue but in rural communities just be sensible
Why do you really have to kiss in public any way? If you are trying to prove it to someone that you love him/her then that can be done without having spectators.

For example It makes me laugh when few people phone in during radio programmes as they want to say to their wife/husband that they love him/her when that wife/husband is usually sitting right there next to them.

But to answer your question I would agree with ChuckFickens.

I wouldn't like to risk it though. It probably depends on the whim of whatever nutjob local official is in charge at the time whether you're beheaded, lashed, have your lips chopped off, sentenced to 20 years or whatever.
Depends what kind of kissing it is Keyplus. Wouldn't you give your partner a kiss goodbye in public?

i find that endearing, depending on whats said of course. but like pda's there are varying levels in all societies, some societies are more tolerant than others. as ludwig has said, why chance it if in a very public place ? any local community might be outraged at something that is tolerated or acceptable in a city, even in dear old england.
Was I the only woman who crossed my legs on reading Ludwigs post ? :o/
Trust you to lower the tone Jack.
Actually what I also meant to say was, not only would I not risk it, but it would be wrong to risk it anyway. When you're in another country, you should totally go along with the requirements of that culture. Their country - their rules. If you don't like it, go somewhere else.
In the end it is very simple. Respect the local law and do not try dictating them what should be allowed and what not.
the comment on the east coast being stricter is very true.

Indonesia is similar - a lot of fol don't realise that this is the largest Muslim population in the world.

Ask the Dutch as a they have a lot of immigrants from there being an ex-colony.
Jack, yuk! That didn't occur to me!

Ludwig, I agree with you completely.

Keyplus, //Respect the local law and do not try dictating them what should be allowed and what not.//

How typically hypocritical of you. You continually criticise the culture in this country. Perhaps you should practice what you preach.
what ever happened to self-control? do you really need to kiss in public? why not kiss in the comfort of your hotel room

thanks for the answers! and for you nosey lot, i wont be going around kissinf random strangers, my lovely boyfriend is flying out to meet me! >_< super happy happy face!!
Naomi - Perhaps you should understand difference between law and culture and then more importantly between giving your opinion and violating the law. And just for your information (although it will not make any difference) I may not agree with few things but have never ever violated this countries law and that includes even speeding, paking fine etc.
Malaysia is very westernised and would not arrest tourists lightly; drugs is the most serious offence. You can kiss so long as its within the boundaries allowed in public in UK.
