Its my son's prom tonight, i can't wait to see him in his suit ahhh bless!!! wish i had a prom but all we got were egged lol, just off to pick his prom date's corsage up, they will look so smart :-) x

No we have a nice jag xk to take him in, they have to leave from school on a coach (to stop them getting drunk first!!) his date is coming here and they are leaving together :-) x

My son had a prom can still see him in his first suit he has just qualified as a solicitor and believe me I wept that day lots of good things to come for you !!!!

This is my son's prom night in 2005 - he is the blonde one on the right hand side.

He had a great time - 5 of them went in a limo. It was his first time in wearing a suit.

I would have loved a prom!! they started doing them a few years ago, even some primary schools have them now!

its all a bit 'american'. Feel sorry for the kids who do well at school but whose parents may not be able to afford the big dress/suit and ridiculously OTT method of transport. Oneupmanship for the elite.

Obviously the transport is optional - all the kids in my son's year went to the prom - and we are not in the 'elite' bracket.

never had a prom, its nice to all get together but I have to agree with booldawg it is very americanized and not every childs parents can afford it
