All week I have suffered with a headache, today it has now spread to the area around my right ear and my neck is also painful when turning to the right. I also had a rash for a couple of days in the week which I treated with piriton. I wonder if anyone else has had this, I think it may be a viral infection? Any ideas, at the moment i am taking painkillers every few hours....

virus infection is a good bet as you quite rightly say......?shingles....although you say the rash has gone.

Could be referred pain from cervical spondylosis (arthritis of the neck)

Hi Just to give an update I went to the Doctors today and she checked my ears throat and blood pressure and asked me lots of questions, she thinks it may be muscle neck tension as my neck and shoulders were really hard, so she suggested seeing a physiotherapist and gave me a leaflet on some neck exercises. At least its nothing serious ?!
