i don't know where to put this post.
And I don't really know why I'm posting. I'm just so upset. A lady who saw it said there was nothing I could have done but I feel terrible.

Awhh, poor you. Have a cuppa. x
Terrible feeling running over ANY animal.
Did you put it to the side of the road or did you leave it in situ?
You will forget it in a few days.
It's not easy to come to terms with that crisgal, I'm terrible when driving if an animal runs out, i react and try to avoid hitting it which i know is wrong . there was nothing you could do about it, but you're bound to be upset. were you able to identify the owner? was the cat wearing as collar?

there were some painters and they came and saw to it for me cus i was in a state. It died quickly they said. They rang the rspca and even took it to the vets to see if it's microchipped. They all said that there was nothing io could do. I keep going over and over it though. It had no collar but i think i should have knocked on some doors maybe. I can't bear the thought of someone waiting for their pet to come home.
Hate to be awful....but from someone who has lost several cats that way.....I rather hope you DON'T forget.

There probably WASN'T anything you could have done.....as cats will be impulsive.....
but we-the owners -will most likely always lay the blame on drivers.
If someone loses their cat they ring the RSPCA and local Vets anyway and so hopefully they will eventually find out. that's the nature of being a catowner
cats bolt out in the road, it's not fair to lay the blame at the driver.

don't worry pasta, i won't ever forget.

i'm dreading driving back along that road later when I have to pick my kids up.
pasta...don't understand........what is the point in "beating yourself up" over every tragedy in your life.?

Sorry hun.....it just brought back to me...in an instant....the sight of my cat in a box...cold.

x
I ran over some ducklings on the dual carriageway once. I couldn't break because of the cars behind me. I was driving along heaving and my daughter was crying.
Crisgal , you must be so upset , what an awful thing for you , even if it wsn't your fault you will naturally feel guilty , poor soul . I hope the cat was returned to it's owner eventually so they know what's happened . A sad affair all round really . x
All perfectly natural emotions and reactions......but get on with life.
pasta i have lost 3 cats to car accidents, one Timandamus was killed in 1977, then Lenny in 1979 and then Rackel in 1998, ( I still have her kitten Tom). I have never ever forgotten my cats, but i have never thought in any way that the car driver was at fault, cat's are fast, but they just get unlucky.
Cats are not known for walking in a straight line or in any predictable direction. There was probably nothing that you could do. You must have got a hell of a shock.

It's the drivers who don't stop and leave the animal lying on the road that get to me.

Roads + cats = bad combination.

wolf....yes, that gets me too, but if it happens at night, the cat will probably try to get home or go into the bushes to die.

thanks everyone. i can't stop crying. i am a big animal lover and adore cats.
the lady with me kept saying - get over it it's just a cat. i can't believe she was so unfeeling. the painters were so kind i don't know what i would have done without them.
It ran out and i saw it and i started to slowed down and it stopped but then it ran out again. if it had kept going it would still be alive.

i'm going to have to go now. get my jobs done and try and keep busy. thanks x
