how have jobs changed in the last 50 years???

The declline in heavy industry steel, coal ,shipbuildingetc.A rise in service jobs,continental shift patterns, Seven day opening,all day and night opening. Also trade union legislation and minimum wage are just a few.
Aso a huge rise in the care sector. With overseas travel more common this has led to a rise in the travel and tourism industry.
Less manufacturing industry and more service industry.
Expectations of combining job descriptions, e.g. salesmen are now expected to salesmen/technicians (to cut back on staff numbers and save money!). Huge rise in part time jobs and the introduction of job sharing. Health and Safety has become and industry in itself!
and of course -

COMPUTERS - The whole communication and technology explosion throughout the world.
