Can you enlighten us as to what an IRA is?????
Presumably this is a query about USA tax rules. I doubt you'll get many US tax experts on this UK site but I wish you luck. Is there a US equivalent of Answerbank that you could try?

Check with an accountant. I am in US too, my guess would be no to multiple IRA accts. Maybe a mix of the 2 kinds is allowed.

An IRA is an Individual Retirement Account. It is a voluntary retirement system that an individual can set up to have in addition to any pension provided by the employer. I can't remember the difference between the two types.
We also have 401k plans and TDA(Tax deferred Annuity) which are similar in idea, but have different tax outcomes.
Your Q made me curious. It seems as if you can have a combination of the 2 types.
