Do you have a daily ritual that maybe you never even realised til you read this. Like, I almost always use the same cup for my morning coffee before I head to work. There's probably loads more too. Don't know if ritual's the right word but I'm just saying I think I'd feel weird if I used a different cup, is all.

A definition or ritual
a. detailed method of procedure faithfully or regularly followed:
b. A state or condition characterized by the presence of established procedure or routine.

So its more than the habit of cleaning your teeth and getting dressed, unless this is done in a prescribed way. One of mine is to use the same changing room when I go swimming in the morning. When I can not because it is already in use, I feel ridiculously hard done by. Rituals are a comfort, but they do need to be kept firmly in hand.
Using the same parking bay in the car park, the same locker in the gym, the same seat t the domestic meal table, my favourite beaker for a cup of coffee, a daily sneak at a couple of my favourite websites, a cooked egg and bacon breakfast on Sundays .............!

As Ruby says, it's OK if these rituals provide some comfort and a little structure to your life. It's not OK when any of them become such an obsession that they either take over your life or seriously disrupt your sense of proportion.

Mmmmmm?
I like to use the same toilet in the club I go to. The one on the left I firmly believe has the lergies.

I have to get up on a number that ends in 5 or 0.

If I'm reading in bed I have to come to a full stop at the bottom of the page before I can put the book down.

I have to wait for the bang of the door that tells me a particular housemate has left before I get up in the morning. (She's lovely but our personalities clash in the mornings).

I think they're just security things and usually have a base in reason.
Sounds more like Obsessive Compulsive Disorder to me ! Ask your doctor for some tablets to fix this.
