I am lucky enough to overlook this building where I work, and so get used to the "bongs" every hour on the hour.

However, yesterday at 1pm, 2pm and 3pm instead of the 1, 2 and 3 "bongs" respectively there was about ten on each, I thought there might have been a funeral or something but the flag isn't at half mast. Then this morning at 8am, instead of 8 bongs there were five. I have googled in vain but can't find anything locally or otherwise to explain this - can anyone help?

PS if you can think of a better category to put this Q in, then please report me and send me on my way!

It did 7 bongs at 10 o'clock.
Have you thought of going to the building and asking someone.

I don't fancy having to fight my way through the zillions of American and Chinese tourists, and then the Uni students on top of that. Thanks for suggestion though.
Students and bongs, eh?

Even the clock is stoned...
