My daughter, who is just 17, read Ian McEwen's "Enduring Love" a few months ago, as a break from her A level texts and she really enjoyed it. You might like to watch the film of the same name as well, starring Daniel Craig and Samantha Morton.
I really enjoyed Father Frank by Paul Burke.
tully is a great book about three friends its by paulina simmons

Are you looking for contemporary or classical? I'm not a voracious reader myself, but have just begun Pride and Prejudice and am so glad that I did.

yeah I agree,

Jane Austen - Dickens or Trollope

Dickens - Gt Expex/Twist/Old Curiosity shop Wilde - Only a man with a heart of stone wouldnt laugh at D's account of the death of Little Nell

Trollope - Ist Barchester novel or Eustace Diamonds

Try 'This Is All: The Pillow Book of Cordelia Kenn' by Aiden Chambers. It's beautifully written and charts a girl's relationship with her boyfriend/lover over several years; how she sets out to win him, gets him, loses him and gets him again.

It's quite a lengthy read, but well worth it.

Have a look here:

The Great Gatsby.

I'm not that bothered wether its classical or contemporary, but i think i would find a classical book harder to read, so comtemporary is probably preferable. Thank you!! xx

Hi two books I could not put down

1 Angelas ashes by Frank McCourt

2 Addict by stephen smith

both true stories the first about growing up in Ireland,a great read, the second a frightening insight into drug addiction, you might think no thanks, but if you pick this book you will never touch drugs,it is so well written, funny, sad and addictive reading.

I read Michael Gayle "My legendary Girlfriend" and positively loved it .Since then I have read all if his later novels.it,s easy reading not like Ian Mc Ewan
have to agree with ray, stephen smiths book is a brilliant read.
the secret history by donna tart
If you havent already read Catcher in the Rye, you should definately give it ago.
'The Magus', by John Fowles; in fact, anything by John Fowles is good.
