Germaine Greer has criticised Elton John for naming his husband David Furnish as the 'mother' on the birth certificates of their two sons.

David Furnish has hit back, telling her to mind her own business, but does she have a point? Does it make any sense at all to describe a man as a ‘mother’?

Talk in this thread has reminded me of the story I heard many years ago. I'll try to tell it without indicating what nationality was involved to avoid being labelled a Racist. Talk in this thread has reminded me of the story I heard many years ago. I'll try to tell it without indicating what nationality was involved to avoid being labelled a Racist.

A woman was alongside the bed of her dying husband, with a few of her relatives. The husband says to his wife......"Before I go, tell me honestly, is that skinny little chap really a son mine because he isn't a big lump of a lad as I was and his brother is." The answer given was " I can swear on the Bible and my own life that he is." The husband then gave his last breath and his wife looked at the folk around her and said " I thank God that he didn't ask me about the big lad."

G'night all.....Hans.

ummmm, how do you know they are calling you by your name? Perhaps they are just thinking what they are going to say. :-) x
Dave Allen - priceless :-) Ta, JimF.
// We all know you can only (at present) get a baby from one male and one female. //

actually cloning technology is advanced enough for the above to no longer be true. however offspring will then be genetically identical to the parent. genetic variation is one of the ways that a species can minimise the effect of a nasty disease, so mainstream cloning would not be desirable as it increases the risk of overall species susceptibility.
I agree Ken.

This is another one which I think is suitable for this thread.
