Anybody seen this?

How do you think the issue about the teaching of sexual and family diversity is going to be resolved? Especially as the temperature will be raised further next year when it becomes a legal(?) requirement on all primary schools to instruct their pre-pubescent pupils about same-sex marriage.

It seems to me that there's an intractable contradiction in an educational policy which promotes the idea that homosexuality is "OK" to the children of parents who think it is not.

But I'm not that an imaginative person. The British have a gift for compromise (we are told). What's the likely British compromise here?

Spicerack and his allies (“it's going to be compulsory from next year)” demonstrate the very stupidity of the various demonstrators on Panorama.

It might be compulsory to talk to children about RELATIONSHIPS (in all their diversity) but no-where in the UK are children taught to BE anything, except tolerant.

Tolerance, eh, whatever next.
^^ Run that by me again, in English.
It would be interesting to note if any of these Muslim parents who have kept their children off school over this issue, will be fined the huge sum of money that the mother was, who had recovered from cancer when she chose to take her children on holiday during a school term?
Spicerack: go learn it.

Ano the old git: as I tried to point out earlier, it was a MULTI-FAITH protest - mad muslims, barmy jews, crazy christians - so why are you singling out Muslim women for your fevered attacks?

Couldn't be a tad prejudiced, could you?

I don't know what the compromise is. Religion will ultimately be dragged kicking and screaming into the 21st century.

Admittedly, the rest of us might have moved on to the 22nd century by the time that happens.
Having read Calicogirl’s opinion //that ALL children attending state school should be taught about the normalcy of heterosexual, homosexual, bi, trans and pan relationships equally.//

…I came across the latest news of a woman who identifies as ‘objectum sexual’ and has previously been infatuated with a drum kit and married to the Statue of Liberty. Despite currently conducting an open relationship with several light fittings she is now planning to marry a chandelier called Lumiere.

Got that kids? All perfectly normal.

Lol....I was reading that this morning, Naomi, although it's nothing new. I remember watching something about it on daytime TV when my daughter was little and she's 27 now.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, when is the suspended "No outsiders" program returning to the curriculum? Or is consultation with the "community" still a work in progress?

Do you think the gay propandist "Mufti" Moffat will be allowed to continue teaching at Parkfield?
Not sure Object Sexuality falls within the normal range, indeed it is viewed as a disorder.

Still would be no reason to bully or shun but would be unlikely to feature in the proposed education programme.

The compromise would be to tell the truth when a question is asked, but not claim that it's a subject that needs teaching.

I could have sworn Naomi was making an extreme effort at parody, but real life (as the Telegraph's Peter Simple pointed out decades ago) outstrips the wildest imaginings of satirists. Innit?
Parody indeed but a little learning is not always a dangerous thing ;-)

Drink deep, or tastenot the Pierian spring.
Question Author
I approve Pope's "drink deep" advice.
