It seems that as a society we constantly make excuses for Islam and how it impacts on us.
People standing up to it are vilified, called right wing extremists and even jailed.

It takes a step back and a realistic appraisal of the dangers, as Pat Condell does.

Can you fault his opinions?

If you're really that hard of understanding, Garaman, carry on.

Sorry Theland, I tried to keep your thread on track.

I just don't get it!
Why oh why is there ANYBODY defending scum?
I too, like Tommy Robinson have Muslim friends.
Mine run a takeaway, Garam Masala, in Bromborough.
The boss, Jay, has been a good friend to my family, and we, to him. When I was fitter, I went into his business to repair the plumbing as a favour.
He is as normal and as integrated as you can get.
I am proud of my friendship with him.
My issue is with the ISLAMISTS like Salman Abedi and the Imams who preach Sharia.
I am neither racist, nor Xenophobe.
I am a keen supporter of traditional British values.
Anybody object to that?

I don't think anyone would object to that Theland.

I have yet to see anyone defend any Muslim terrorist or murderer anywhere on this site, ever.

I think everyone's issue is with hate preachers, you do not have a monopoly on despising them utterly.

But you have to remember, that your frequent posts do follow a pattern of attitude, which as I have pointed out several times, is utterly at odds with your professed deep and strong Christian beliefs.

You constantly belittle and scoff at 'The ROP' and you equally constantly clearly see Muslims as a homogenous mass who all think and act in exactly the same way - with rabid hostility towards the West.

You state that you are not a racist, or a xenophobe, which are actually the same thing.

Based on what I have read of what you think, in my view, that is exactly what you are.
Not quite. Xenophobia is the fear and distrust of that which is perceived to be foreign or strange. Racism is related to race, although granted the word is horribly misused these days and applied to situations where race isn't the issue. Misuse of words seem to be par for the course these days.
Old_Geezer. I am happy to stand correct, and remove the 'racist' aspect of my post to Theland, and leave the xenophobe to stand.
OG, //Misuse of words seem to be par for the course these days.//

I couldn’t agree with you more. Racist, xenophobe, bigot. Fashionable words utilised regularly by small minds.

Get back here. It's nowhere near cold enough.

Just popped back for my slippers.

Its only Answerbank, not the Old Bailey, so the verdicts should not be too important.
But do you know what?
When some consider me a Xenophobe, racist, bigot, hateful etc etc, it really hurts.
I am none of those things.
I espouse only ordinary traditional British values, but yes, Christian values too, vicars, choirs, church bells, Sunday School, Boy Scouts and Girl Guides Brownies etc.
This is Britain at its best, with no whiff of Shria rubbish.
I stand up for what I believe and what makes me and mine happy.
For this I am accused of some kind of hate.
It is not true. It hurts. Really.

Interesting.

You regularly and frequently scoff and scorn another faith, members of which are AB'ers. but never to do the same to your Christianity.

Do you think they are not hurt by your constant demeaning bigotry and superiority? But because they do practice their faith, they do not act as you do.

You feel hurt? Now you know how they feel, maybe it will prompt you to think about the way you think, and the way you behave on here.

You are contsantly reminding us that you are a Christian - maybe it's time you started to act like one.

/// The hypocrisy of your much vaunted and posted Chritsian beliefs coupled with your vehement and sustained hatred of a people who believe differently from you makes me see you as little more than an amateur agitator, and I have no time for
it. ///

No need to take that insulting attitude, some are seriously concerned over the spread of Islam, just as we were over the spread of Nazism all those years ago.

Yes I too show hatred for a people who believe in, gassing and then cremating people, just as I do towards people who believe in throwing Gays off tall buildings and treating women as second class citizens and other much worse deeds.

Don't you?
AOG - I think Theland can speak for himself if he wishes to do so.

I am not going to dignify your question with a response.
/// You are contsantly reminding us that you are a Christian - maybe it's time you started to act like one. ///

Entered by a person who hates Christianity.

So you want Theland to act in a way that you hate so much?
andy-hughes

/// AOG - I think Theland can speak for himself if he wishes to do so. ///

You are so hypocritical, the times that you speak on behalf of others, you constantly tell others what to do, but do not follow the same advice yourself.
AOG - // Entered by a person who hates Christianity. //

I have never said I 'hate Christianity' - probably because I don't.

I do however hate hypocrisy.
AOG - // So you want Theland to act in a way that you hate so much? //

I don't 'want' Theland to act in any way at all, I am merely pointing out the hypocrisy of his posts, measured against is oft-stated deep faith.

How he acts is a matter for his own conscience - and his God whom he is sure is watching.
/// I do however hate hypocrisy. ///

Then please show it, see my past post referring to your hypocrisy.
andy-hughes

I think that he is showing his Christian beliefs, by condemning evil acts carried out in the name of an alien religion.
AOG - // andy-hughes

As far as I am aware, Christianity is not about condemnation, but about forgiveness and love.

As for an 'alien' religion - it's only 'alien' to people who don't practice it, that makes Christianity an 'alien' religion to me as well.
