Good luck to all peaceful Muslims who celebrated Eid at the end of Ramadan.
I hope they all enjoyed themselves.
I am taken aback though, to see Theresa May making a patronising video speech to the Muslims, akin to the Queen addressing the nation at Christmas.
It appears that the government is so craven in the face of Islamic demands for more and more concessions and special treatment, against a backdrop of radicalisation and jihadi violence, that they feel it warrants a further dilution of our customs, ie the personal appearance of our Prime Minister to vicariously bestow the nations blessings on just one section of society.
Will she, I wonder, make similar appearances for our Christian festivals?
To not do so,is hypocracy.
So, my friends, am I just being churlish or do you agree?

I wonder who wrote the script. Somebody from the British Council of Muslims I dare say.
Messages are given for many occasions.

Easter 2018 for example.

Jesus H begging bowl.
Feel better soon.

Vet - Thank you.
Bless you for that and happy 1440 my sister.
More poignant still was the memorial service marking the anniversary of the London Bridge cultural dialogue:

https://www.premier.org.uk/News/UK/Southwark-Cathedral-to-mark-first-London-Bridge-attack-anniversary

This went the full "iftar dinner" route.
vestute, it was the second Iftar dinner hosted by Southwark Cathedral. My niece's school which is also multicultural hosts a school Iftar to which all parents, staff and students are invited. I am not sure what people want really....when Muslims don't want to integrate with people of other faiths or none, that's wrong, and when they do then that's wrong too.
Oh and Theland in answer to you question, I don't think you are being churlish, I think you are being silly.
v_e at 00:56, sycophantic claptrap. I despair.
All part of The Establishments plan to break down the masses so the elites can rule with impunity.

We need The Donald here to drain our swamp.
If that had been Jeremy Corbyn making that speech , The news section on A/B would be in meltdown.
Why Gulliver? Because he is in opposition?
I just Don't, Adam & Eve it. The Cons have gone " un poco loco."
Just watched both and tbh I couldn’t give a tinkers *** that they have both given an address about Eid.

However why not? As leaders they perhaps should mark important dates that are widely celebrated.

I don’t think either are appeasement to Muslims. A chance to encourage moderates perhaps. To perhaps show those at the begin8ngs of radicalisation that the rest of us aren’t all that bed.
Me thinks quite a few of them were radicalised in Bed. Cassa.
Cassa 08.54, even an opposition leader would not be stupid enough to make a speech like this. Just give them keys to Buck house , and be done with it , because thats the way it's going in the UK.

It's called respect. I despair at people who seem bothered by that.
Jim, //It's called respect. I despair at people who seem bothered by that. //

What precisely are you respecting? I respect that which I deem worthy of respect. Islam does not fall into that category.
