28,000 US citizens dead since Sandy Hook - less than a year;over 90 a day.Is this really a price worth paying for the current freedoms to own weapons in the USA?

I would like to see stats for how many of those death's were caused by semi-automatics or handguns and how many were criminal related compared to accidents and lone 'crazies'.

It doesn't make it any less terrible but it would give it some perspective.
well yes they obviously think it is.

anyway there are 200m of the little blighters so 28k is hardly a large village to them....

Dr B - they a re mostly put down to accidents

as in presumably

There are sometimes shoot outs and stray bullets kill... hopefully, after next elections some laws will change...
After the next election? I wouldn't hold my breath. Even in the immediate aftermath of the Sandy Hook massacre the NRA people were fighting their case.
I suppose the sad truth is that we can't judge primitive societies in the New World by our own more civilised European standards.
sandy, I mean elections in 2014 not 2016
I think one of the main problems is that most Americans are uneducated backward hicks, not like the folks on the television box and it's bred into them that the constitution is sacred, much like the bible, only when it suits of course, much like the bible.
