I believe that people do deserve a second chance. Everyone makes mistakes, so it's up to them to make things right now.

It depends what they've done.
it honestly depends on what they have done to be offered a second chance...
what kind fo things are we talking about here? for example you wouldnt give Hilter a 2nd chance :)
Depends...
It would depend on what they'd done. I don't think people who'd attempted murder should be given a second opportunity.
Most people yes, some people no. I think even when it's no, it's important to find out why someone did something though because there is a reason for everything.
@Highbrow Any decision as to a second chance has to be conditional.

Does someone who cheated on a partner deserve a second chance? How about a burglar, or a murderer?

It has to be conditional....
everybody every time? no. Some people sometimes? yes.
As has been said it is very much dependent upon the mistake.
yeah what about incinerating six children ?
Does whoever did it, get a second chance ?

[I want to be careful not to imply any particular person did or did not do it]

Yes, they all deserve a second chance but it strongly depends on what was done. Some things are unforgivable, that's for sure.
being forgiveable and getting a second chance are two different things. I believe that all people have the capacity to redeem themselves, but some people don't want to. as an example, paedophiles i believe should be given a chance at redemption, but i could never forgive what they have done
