what are your thoughts on dressing twins in the same clothes year after year, dont you think it has some adverse psychological effects on them long term,
how do they learn to become individuals.personally i think it silly when you see grown up twins in the same clothes the same hair style / colour, even the same glasses if they wear them

Seems to me when they can afford their own clothes they can then express any individuality they have. that said I think I'd try to cater for different tastes earlier than that were I a parent of twins. But no, I don't think there are any affects worth worrying about simply because one found an outfit one liked and bought two. Unless, of course, the twins are boy & girls I suppose.
I think it just makes life easier when they're little.

People often dress non twins the same. I did with my boys.

As long as you let them chose when they get to the age they notice then there's no harm in it.
i did with my girls (born 3 years apart) at least similar skirts, dresses or jeans & tops, so that they wouldn't feel the other was given more attention!

but absolutely identical is an awful look and not healthy after about 2 or 3!

I'm one of non-identical twins and we wore the same until the end of primary school (there was no school uniform) and I hated it!
What I find amazing is the twins seperated at birth who years later turn up with nearly identical clothing and hairstyles.
I used to dress my (non-twin) girls similarly as they would argue and sulk if they preferred what the other was wearing, they kept it up until they were at least 11/13 years old then the younger one outgrew the older one in height. The eldest then developed a very odd sense of fashion that her sister wouldn't have been seen dead in. lol
Daffy, my nieces are just like that!
I have two boys 13 months apart and whilst I never bought them the same outfits, they would be dressed similarly because that what you have decided is a suitable outfit for whatever activity or event you are going to - e.g. shirts and jeans or t-shirt and shorts etc. There are quite a lot of twins in our family and in the main they have been dressed similarly but in different colours - with my nephews, even for school uniform, one wore white shirts and the other wore grey - this alos helped the teachers tell them apart!! When they got a bit older my brother and his wife would take one out shopping each but numerous times they came back with the same clothes or haircuts!!
I have twin boys- grown up now! I never dressed them the same-they were two different children with different tastes and personalities. I used hate it when people referred to them as 'the twins' and they even used to get one birthday card to share when they had a party! I also wish I had a pound for everytime someone asked me 'Are they twins?' when I was out with them!
lol linedancer I got that and mine were a year apart!!
I can laugh about it now but at the time it was annoying! I know some grown up twins, both ladies, who are 70 , married and with families, who still dress and do their hair exactly the same and I often think ' why?'
I hate seeing siblings dressed the same, even non-twins.... it's just wrong!
Friend has triplet grandchildren and they are always dressed differently - colour, style etc. Think this makes them more individual.
I hate seeing married couples who wear the same jackets!
We were always referred to as 'the twins' and I hated it. I have never called my twins 'the twins', hence they are referred to on here as thing 1 and thing 2. At home they are called by their names (or any random name I come up with, dependant upon on how stressed I am).
My little sisters (not twins) used to quite like dressing the same when they were very young (6 and 4)... then middle sister developed a liking for that fluresent lime green colour and thus ended a beautiful friendship! ;o)
