i hadnt seen him in years, but were friends on facebook... i had not spoken face to face in 20-odd years

but i had passed him in the street a few times and at first i didnt recognise him and he didnt seem to recognise me either so we just carried on walking ...i only realised it was him after seeing him a few times and it dawned on me - and i always said to myself, i will go over next time... but everytime for the next few times i was in a rush or for some reason i couldnt stop and chat...

i always figured i had plenty of time to say hello next time ...

i feel really quite sad now that i will never get chance - i hope he didnt recognise me and think i had ignored him...

he was a real joker...always had us in stitches in lessons, was always the naughty but funny one, playing tricks etc

and strangely apt for this time of year, his name was chris moss.

Sad joko - we always think we've got lots of time but the years just slip by. 3 old neighbours died this year - said we'd always keep in touch but...... Next time you think you see an old friend make the time to speak - I know I will. Here endeth the lesson lol. Merry Christmas
very sad, i always think don't put off what you can do today, our friends, family aren't here for ever.
You can think it's sad but it's just the way life is. Chances are he didn't recognise you and even if he did, his reaction to knowing who you were was exactly the same as yours.
Strangely apt his name was Chris Moss....is that meant to be a joke?
Apologies joko if my previous post seems a bit harsh...I'm a bit drunk.

er yes evian, thanks for that... how stupid am i wishing i'd spoken to him and feeling sad i wont get chance now, when obviously he didnt give a toss eh?
It's this sort of event that makes people realise that they shouldn't put things off....
Question Author
yes definitely, thats kind of the reason i posted it - a cautionary tale i guess

i think actually he did recognise me... i apparently have hardly changed - but he has a lot... but something in the look on his face the last time i saw him makes me think he did ... but that may be paranoia...
Seriously Joko? You didn't care about him until he was dead.

You clearly missed my entire point.
Question Author
And you clearly missed mine if you think I didn't care about him til he was dead!

And as for your point - you didn't have one - you were just being rude.
