I was just thinking there, I'm in my 30's now, but I feel if I were to sit down and rack my brains about things that I've done and played them out in real time, I doubt if I could come up with 24 hours of material. Now, I admit that I don't have the best memory but I still find that a scary or something. Did it even happen at all?

I only remember flashes, then can draw down stuff in more detail if I need do - but there are wads of time which I don't remember at all. I don't think we could handle it if we remembered every single minute - but strangely, the older I get, the more I remember.
the older you get the more you remember from way back, its the short term memory that seems to fade, i can recall sitting in a garden playing with my siblings as a small child, but not what i did yesterday, its the oddity of it all.
I'm always amazed at how much my friends remember about our childhood and growing up. I can never remember things. I even get shown pictures and think to myself "I don't remember that!"

Worrying as I've only just turned 30!!
btw flobabob, don't forget you borrowed forty quid from me last year. No hurry, anytime in the next week will do. :-)
I am told that memories are meant to fade which is not very helpful. I like to thing that I have got a good memory but some things I do not recall.
Oh Pinky how true - I feel totally inadequate when friends start reminiscing.
The information is still all there - filed away in your brain. It's your retrieval system that is at fault.

Like you I can only remember snippets of my life and some of those are confused and distorted.

It is amazing how memories resurface due to a sight, a sound, a taste or a smell.

I always thought that it would be a good idea if we could download our brains into a computer upon out death. It can be done - I saw it on Star Trek or Stargate.

;-)
probably both but I can't remember which.

I think it was Stargate tho.
I had to see a counselor when I was 34, she asked me to tell my life story from the beginning.
I found it a quiet interesting experience to recall your whole life or as much as you can remember to a complete stranger. I was also surprised at how much I did actually remember although not minute by minute of course.

I don't think I've remembered a new incident from my past in a long long time. I just recall certain things that are always there, but I can't recall just suddenly remembering something that I'd forgotten about, out of the blue.

That was hard to phrase and I don't think I want to try again.
I remember everything vividly....I even remember how I felt at certain times. I just can't remember things I do on auto pilot. Like driving to the supermarket....going to fetch something from a different room. Mundane things...
