It's Death Awareness Week!

http://www.dyingmatte...ources/awareness-week

I think the presentation is a bit over the top, but that it's something worth thinking about.

How many of us have made a will / indicated our wishes?

I've not, but shall be doing!

And where should I have posted this? Body & Soul, perhaps?
B&S yes, but this is a good place - and yes, I've had a will for many years and I've updated it a couple of times as circumstances changed. We've also chosen and paid for the plot where our ashes will rest. We have no children so need to make plans as nobody else may be around to see that our wishes are met.
I couldn't care less what happens to me, but would hope there's a bit of respect shown by whoever chooses! it won't be anything religious though, unless I go on to have one of those "born again" moments.. most unlikely!

if I became seriously ill, I might be more concerned.

anyway, you can all come to my funeral if you like, no idea when it might be.
The sensible part of me says I don't care what happens when I'm gone...

the part of me that's friends with somebody that does embalming thinks euuggh, gawd no I don't want that done to me.
I'd rather be dead than think about dying.
I made a will some years ago and the boss and my two sisters all know my wishes as regards to organ donation etc. Though I've not really looked into it I've recently being thinking about donating my body to science, after all it's no good to me when I'm dead and it seems a shame to just bury or burn it when it might do somebody a bit of good down the line
PMSL, What a happy thread :o(
Bobbs, if it wasn't for recent events, I would probably agree. My lads get everything including the overdraft, credit card bill, bank loan, but they're not having my fecking Tesco Clubcard points - the undertaker can have those as a tip!!!
It was meant to be ...errrm a tad sarky WY, I don't think it is a happy thread at all, look at the down turned mouth
Yes.

But I can't tell you whose........just in case it alerts the authorities. :o)
Bobbs, I know - i'm not thick - well not THAT thick anyway - I have an ology - and the doc have given me some tablets for it! lol
good man WY x
I think I have made my wishes known. Just want out of here.
I'm going to sit on my cloud, learning to play the harp, and look down laughing at all the squabbling.

bobbi - yes, it's sad, but life is like that, to quote the Reader's Digest...

I went to a friend's funeral, and his wife said "he left everything up to me - he didn't leave a will, and i didn't know whether there was any insurance, or where he kept his money"
brilliant stuff O_G
respect !
I'm swimming in the big river in Eygt..it's called 'Denial'...I wanna live forever!
WelshYorkie, that's my Dad's plan too. We get literally everything he has - and hasn't got. As there won't be much in cash left over (about 36p each at the last count) we have been diviying up what we want. I will be having the motorbike. But that's only so I can fix it up as it was me that knocked it over when it was brand new. There's a bit of a fight looming over who is having Gary, Dad's treasured carving knife.
Noraq, I could join you today.

keep your head above the water, Noraq, and watch out for the crocs!
venator I was at a funeral on Tuesday we all came out smiling as they played Dancing Queen, I can honestly say it felt much better than the sad music often heard.
on the second part of the question tho' yes we have a will, I think it's imperative in a second marriage anyway
