No there isn't.

You say you're writing a book - I'm afraid you *REALLY* are actually going to have to do some research yourself...

Thanks Markrae................whoa is me for i believe this vexing, troublesome thought to be true?
Are you the same person who has asked a very similar question on another thread?
^Crikey ! If that is an example of the writing to which you will be treating your readers..........I think I may well pass.............:o(
Deary me, you've got a lot of work to do!

Whoa - interjection to a beast e.g. a horse to tell it to stop.
Woe - well, you can look it up.

Personal pronoun first person singular - written as a capital even in the 17th century.

Thankyou Markrae, i think i might knock i might knock the idea of writing a novel on the head............I have a lot to learn.
Question Author
Woe is me Markrae for trying to be as smart as you eh!
You've now decided to give up writing a novel because "you've got a lot to learn"???

Sounds to me like you're an extremely lazy person - what precisely is wrong with you...?
Question Author
Then i might have a go MarkRae..................have you any advice?
For heaven's sake...!!!

Read lots of books written in the (late) 17th century.

Read them all again until you are completely familiar with their style and grammar.
Question Author
Thanks MarkRae...............and sorry for being so blunt.
websites can translate vocabulary from one language to another (but they can produce some fabulously funny results in the process, so they're seldom reliable). They can't translate style. Style is something that writers have to work out for themselves. Everyone's is different (try comparing Dickens to Hemingway, for instance). There just aren't any short cuts. Sorry.
I would think if you wrote in the style of Pepys, readers may be at a loss anyway. Write it in your own style rather than imitate? Not meant as a criticism just an observation.
Pepys wrote his diaries in a form of shorthand and code. After you had learnt this style then it would have to be translated into English to be read by others.
Don't give up - if you have good ideas, but your written skills aren't up to the job, you can always consider using a ghostwriter.
Hey,tell me,I got interested.Who is this Samuel Pepys?I wanna read his speaches to taste the stuff.Any links to them would be welcome
Here dim,

Oh what a guy!Thanks too
Not too sure of Pepys's style, but scatter a few capital letters round the nouns. Woe is me! The Night is passing and the Light of Day will mean my Sleep is over. ( Or some Such Which!!)
