Seems to hark way back and is almost actual Anglo-Saxon dress. Almost historically correct.

Scotland, Wales And Ireland have a National Costume, England doesn't, about the closest you'll get is the costume worn by Morris Dancers.
Nowadays it is a Liverpool shirt , you can see them from Lands End to John what's his name
The picture shows a style of dressing that was prevalent across most of western Europe for centuries between about 600 and 1100 AD. Nothing particularly English or British about it.
What is most popular or identifiable is going to vary across time and place, even nowadays - think Salford shell suit / Putney hacking jacket.

Males: Morris Dancer outfits would be most appropriate.

Females: The Burkha to ensure that thousands of illegal immigrants are not offended.
What about Shellsuits for the thousands of male illegal immigrants
Nah, they're well out of fashion !! Very 80s.
The national dress of England shown here looks good to me.
At least we have a big knfe not a haggis hanging down over a knitted skirt.
Lil ol lady you reveal your ignorance ..."nothing particularly English OR ' BRITISH' about it"-Well that would be difficult since it is based on Anglo Saxon dress of the 7th century and over 1000 years before 1707 when the fake 'British' national was invented by way of the 'Act of Union'.

National Costume of England - National Dress
An English National Costume group are trying successfully to make England's national dress be the clothes worn by the Anglo Saxons during the 7th century. .!

It is being taken up by the public because it can be made at home relatively simply. See:
