I bought one on the strength of so many good reviews, but I was disappointed with it.

I'd never heard of it. I've googled and it looks as if it's a lot more faffing than peeling with a knife.

I won't be spending my prize vouchers on one of them
its an electric tatty peeler for those who cant be bothered or dont have the time....i suppose
.....and people wonder why society is getting fatter......we are getting lazy thanks to gadgets and gizmos
Why on earth would anyone want to peel a potato ? I prefer the taste of tatties with their skins KEPT ON... lol

(from simply boiled to baked.. they always taste better when the skin is included !)

I think it's a great idea. Very good for folk who have arthritis in their hands, Raynaud's Disease, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, folk who hate peeling tatties, or folk who are just plain lazy (guess which category I belong in).

Problem is, the flipping thing is very hit and miss. Sometimes works, sometimes a dead loss.

If you read the reviews, most of them sing its praises. Mostly Americans, I think. Perhaps it's just me.

mrs.chappie, it's just a gadget. Don't waste your money.

Ethel, I thought you signed Knobbynonuts thread about the winner donating the winnings to Children in Need. Have you changed your mind?

To be honest, I liked the sound of it because it claimed to be able to peel oranges, apples, vegetables, all sorts. I make a lot of fruit salads and I hate having to peel all the fruit, especially oranges.

This thing is not robust enough to do the job though. A very good idea, IMO, if the design was improved.

It gave us a laugh though.

BTW, hiya sis! x
