A lot of folk only use it for heating up.

I wonder how many folk cook in theirs - If you do, what do you cook?

Notafish, what sort of cake was it? Sponge? Fruit cake?
Sponge cake. It was marble cake, with half chocolate and half vanilla. I'm definitely going to try that again cos it cooked really quickly.
scrambled egg sometimes,

though mines a combi, sod knows how to work it, piloting the shuttle would be easier!!!!

That does sound nice!
I cook salmon in mine; and use it to soften butter for spreading.

Here's the recipe. I thought it was marble cake,(that must've been the one she made me) but it's just vanilla...

6oz self raising flour
6oz caster sugar
2 eggs
6 tablespoons oil
6 tablespoons water
flavouring e.g vanilla

mix together

microwave for 7 mins

leave to stand before turning out.

Is that enough information?
I hope that's enough to go on.

I can't remember, I cooked it in my old microwave that I haven't got anymore. I can't remember if you cook it on full power either. It must've been about five years ago so it's about time I did another one.
I'm assuming that my new microwave is more powerful, so I'll try 6 mins on full power and hope. :-)
Firm-textured fish (e.g. salmon or, even better, trout) cooks beautifully in a microwave oven. (It's probably better cooked in the microwave than by any other method). It comes out wonderfully moist and packed with flavour.

Hmmm,so much for my careful budgeting, Mrs C. Now I've typed that, I'm going to have to look for some cheap(ish) trout in the shops tomorrow. I love it (especially when microwaved) but I don't usually buy it because of the cost. I'll have to think up a reason to treat myself ;-)

Well i try not to use it as much because it uses alot of power and my electricity bill will go sky high!! im on PAYO electricity. and its so expensive!! i cant swtich to any suppliers cos of this apartment im living in, where u can only have the supplier they provide, same goes to broadband.

another thing i dont have a proper oven here, just micowave oven -900w.

ive cooked chips, fish fingers, quiche, garlic bread, pizza in them! still goood :) i love the grilling one.

Some clown sellotaped an egg inside the top of the microwave at work last week and blew my curry to bits :o(

I hardly ever use the microwave - maybe for defrosting, if I need something in a hurry. Prefer the conventional methods.
