Some websites call it the Year of the Boar, some call it the Year of the Pig - which is (most) correct? Or doesn't it matter?

Pig.
Special Golden Pig this year as well according to my friend when we were out helping her celebrate.

She said it only happens about every 60 years or so.
This 'boar' thing is recent enough, and its introduction might be due to western society feeling uncomfortable, since the word 'pig' has been used here as a derogatory term for centuries.
To the Chinese, the pig is looked upon as meaning virility, fertility, and success in rearing large families. The boar is included in this, but adds war and battles to its character.
As in the past, I'll keep using 'pig', which covers both genders.
