100 is by definition the average IQ, therefore you are 6% above average. to join Mensa you need to score 148 i think. einstein's was something like 170, carol vorderman's is in the 150s. an internet test will only give you an indication though...to get an official result you need to take an official test.
IQ scores are designed to rank you against other people. A score of 100 is average, if you score below 100 you are below average and score above and you are above average. To qualify for MENSA you need to have a score in the top 2% which depending on the test taken I believe equates to about 140. So it really depends on the test you took and also your age which is an important factor used in calculating your score. For more info have a look here http://www.mensa.org/info.html
I had to take the test when I was 17 to be able to do my apprenticeship, and I scored 138. I am now in my late 30s and had my 2nd baby a few months ago......... if I took the test now I would probably score -138!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Any IQ test that you take on the Internet is not valid, and is not reliable or accurate! That might not be anywhere near your actual IQ. An IQ test must be administered as a standardized test by a qualified psychologist. An example of a *real* IQ test is the Stanford-Binet Intelligence Scale, Form LM.
I did the whole Mensa thing and was invited to join as my IQ was rated at 164 but the most intelligent thing I ever did was quit after the year was up....a bigger bunch of boring farts you have never met in your life.....20 a year for naff all if you ask me......I wouldn't worry to much about any so called internet (or any other IQ test for that matter) IQ test....as long as you have enough common sense you'll get by better than many Mensa members I met.
Soooo true, sft. It's not how much you've got, it's what you do with it.
