ok we originate from Africa so are we all 1 family? how are there black white asian eastern colours/nations?

I can't help thinking that it would have been so much easier if everyone was exactly the same colour....

and I mean purple, blue, red and green stripes, whatever colour, if we were all the same colour wouldn't the world be a better place?

No offence coggles, but no. [gets out soap box]; Because once you eliminate colour prejudice, you still got borders, you still got antiFrench, anti-Irish, antiAmerican etc. and anti Liberalism, anti fascism, ageism, feminism, sexism, pecking orders, 'kill the rich', 'shoot the poor' classwars, and then you just got the religious haters and manipulators to worry about. We are all members of many formal and informal groups, which can put us in the position to be discriminated against. Unfortunately societies inherently enjoy bullying those that are different to the current majority; maybe we should all strive to be similar and fit in, but then we would have no pioneers, record-breakers, explorers, inventors, artists or mould breakers.. so if you want to make a difference you got to stand out stand up and take the flak, and if you just want it easy then you got to work at becoming the grey one, mingled in, head below parapet, being pulled by the strings of fashion bullies, political bullies and religious bullies and every person you meet who has a hidden agenda for putting you down and themselves up. King of the castle is ageless and misses no opportunity to usurp you. So, colour, then is only the tip of the iceberg and we're all doomed to control and victimization, and even bullies get bullied. - soz. And who was the first man? why man, why not woman? Because TRINITY said so, man is the question and i don't know the answer but maybe the world would've been better off without [him]. So I'll just get back to my telly and pc and chocolate and booze and other stuff that diverts me from studying the tangle of **** we're in, and then i'll get me coat. :-)

i believe vitamin d is why we are paler. we get it from sunlight. being in a cooler climate we get less exposure so developed lighter skin to absorb more light and make more vitamin d.

Ohh I knew this would get people going. AB you are right why man? Shall I tell ya cos we live in a patriarchal society and as much as I try not to get sucked in to their conditioned thinking we still do (or should I say I). Anyways you are completely right no matter what if it weren't colour it would be creed or money or anything that people choose to pick on there's no escaping it so deal with it or let it take over you. My Q is really on an evolutionary basis how have we evolved so goddamn quick or have we? There is no definitive answer like believing in God your opinion is neither right nor wrong because we just don't know.I guess coggles you are right to a certain degree but the thing is we're all one race we don't differentiate between the colours of cats,dogs so why the human race? gosh there are so many area to tap into in this Q.

Not father of mankind, but mother of mankind. It has recently been genetically "proved" that we have in fact evolved from one woman, but at least two men. It's all so interesting. God knows what we'll find out next.

One question that hasn't been brought up is why is there nations? Well, presumbably it was to distinguish between one group of people and another (presumbably civilised people and barbarians). Just being from Africa doesn't really follow that xenophobia shouldn't exist, after all even in the times when Egypt was the leading nation, xenophobia still went on.
