Can anyone let me know what level a child would be at when he or she has completed the 13 or so books. I mean what level of competency compared to targets in the school system in the U.K. If they complete the course what age level would they be reading at? Thanks.

At the end of the Ladybird series, (a,b and c) a child hould be reading at an 8 year old level. It isn't advisable, however, to speed through the books before the child has had the opportunity to read other things and consolidate their knowledge.
In order to give the child a little light relief it is advisable to occasionally let them have a quick flick through Hansard or Playboy. Hansard is recommended due to the precision of the rubbish printed therein. A copy for six year old is obtainable from HMSO price three pounds and twevlve pence per issue (plus p&p) vat free.
