Douglas on the isle of man is quite close, they fly there from Blackpool

There is an airfield at Warton, just down the road, but I don't believe it has any commercial flights.

Siamsal - the airfield at Warton is owned by BAe - so no there are no commercial flights from there! The nearest commercial airports (discounting Douglas as it's across the sea) are Liverpool and Manchester.

There is a train goes direct from blackpool to manchester Airport. 2 an hour, we used it from here when we went to Cuba last year, it was very good and only �6 each return
