I liked/like both - both types of music and style interest me and they are still about now. I couldn't choose.
I'd agree with Greedfly on that one ... tough call
Me, I'd go Mod.
i was a mod!! ut now i am older and much wiser i like all the music that goes with being a mod or a rocker!!!

but i still want a lambretta!!
The Rockers were the best of course, well they did ride real motorcycles as opposed to those ladybikes the mods were riding.
I was both depending on the crowd we were running with at the time - I suppose that makes me neither!

Two seperate wardrobes and liking for both sets of music

I was a bit stuck though when they had the bundles on the sea front!

I always really wanted to be a rocker but the Parka was always so much more flattering to my fat backside LOL
I was a Mod, we were nice and clean, well dressed, listened to good music, the small faces, the who etc
i rode a vespa, full of of chrome and mirrors, we spent the weekends in the clubs, and had the odd fight in Brighton,
Hastings etc, they were great times.
I was a mod ....at the time I had a boyfriend with a Vespa !.
We thought we were the bees knees ! I lived in Kent in that era and we always down on the coast somewhere,Ramsgate ,Margate or as ray says Hastings .My Dad despaired !
We used to wear straight skirts or suits with long jackets with Hush Puppie lace ups or those cuban heel two tone shoes with a strap over the instep and plain navy Crombie coats. The boys had parkas or they always wore sharp suits and a sort of trilby type hat.
Great times .
is that like the chav / greebo situation nowadys?
WE probably met shaneystar, lol My clothes were when going to the coast, Levis, desert boots, white T shirt, Parka, and a sort of camoflage hat, Lot smarter than the greasy Rockers, Then in the week, Living in London I was always at the Marquee,in wardour strret,or the Goldhawk in Shepherds bush, The Who, were playing that club a lot.
Oooh I say Ray we probably passed by one another near Margate Clock Tower ! I remember going to see the Who in Chatham.Did you ever go to the Flamingo Club in Wardour St ?We saw Georgie Fame and the Blue Flames there ..oooh he was lovely !!
When we moved back to Norfolk from Kent the Mods and Rockers used to gather on Yarmouth seafront and I was always down their much to the annoyance of my older brother who was in the police force ...he used to spend a lot of time shoving them in the back of a Black Maria !!
Hi shaneystar, I wnt to the Flamingo a few times, but mainly the Marquee, I also used to go to a club called Tiles, near Tottenham Court road, Margate brings back lots of memories, We went there quite often, I even slept on the roof of a toilet behind a pub after about 6 of us were chased by about 40 Rockers, Brighton was my favourite place, I used to Love georgie fame, saw him many times, also Loved Chris Farlowe, Geno Washington, The Action, god I could go on for ages, Carnaby street, the freedom we enjoyed was wonderfull, I remember the Clocktower and of corse Dreamland, great days eh ? Ray
Yes indeed !
My idea of a good time nowadays is a large scotch and a crossword puzzle ! Two girls I was at school with and who were my fellow Mods even after we left school to go to work are still close friends .We have now been friends for 47 years !
We often chat about the old days.I think we had some of the best times .It was a new found freedom after an austere childhood after the war and in the fifties. My dear old Dad used to say "Lot of layabouts ,they should get proper jobs and a decent haircut "....but he still paid for me to go and see The Beatles at the London Palladium and shelled out for a Mary Quant haircut .Bless him .
What about the super cool black pvc macs worn with white courreges boots, eh shaney? I also had a bright red crochet dress - and everything of course barely covered my bottom, but then my weight was about 6 stone. My dear dad used to look at mum and say "Is she safe going out like that?" My hair was blonde, centre parting, huge fringe and two enormous side bits that always found my mouth at meal times!
Mod music was fabulous - Manfred Man, Geno, of course, John Lee Hookeretc. the blues men I saw many times, not in London but Bournemouth where they came frequently. My friend queued all night for the Beatles ...that was amazing!
Oh Cetti...nice to see you...My dad used to say ..".don't bend over they'll be able to see what you had for breakfast "!!
Crocheted dresses....gosh that brings back memories .We used to paint freckles and eyelashes on a la Twiggy ! I had a couple of big wings of hair that hung down in a flick at the sides and cut short at the back.Of course we were all rake thin then !
Do you remember the dresses with the ruffles on the cuffs ..they used to hang down over your fingers and I used to end up getting them covered in prawn curry !!
We used to go to Petticoat Lane to buy all the latest gear with the grand sums of money we used to earn in those days.!!
RAY!Wash your mouth out!!!
No contest really, rockers def the best, not a lot has changed either,we bikers can still ride real bikes, hairdryers are solely for drying hair, whoever put wheels on them should be shot!!
Oh yes I do remember the ruffles, my best friend always wore them. I loved maroon or bottle green tank tops as they made me look as though I had a bit more shape! My blonde hairpiece (oh, the agony of the grips!) gave me a bit more height with the giant curls on top.

It was the time I had my first chinese meal complete with Mateus Rose. I thought I was so cool drinking wine and smoking either Gauloises or Black Sobranie......It really was the greatest time to be young - I wouldn't have missed a second of it, would you?
Has to be rockers. Music was better and a leather jacket beat a parka all the time. as for scooters, another wheel at the back and they'd have the same looks and acceleration as those l trikes that those with walking difficult zoom around the town centres on
No Cetti ..not at all in spite of winding toilet round those huge hairstyles of a night to keep the awful rats nest going until the following week when you went through the whole palaver again.I wonder if they still sell hairpins !
Then the messing around with two hairgrips and a bit of sellotape so that you could get two perfect thin ringlety bits at the sides !
Ooooh spit mascara from Miners ...and Taboo perfume !
