Does anyone know if the LDS church forbids it's members to divorce, or do they just frown upon it?

Thanks

The LDS Church believes that a person can only rightfully (under God) marry once, whether they lose a partner thru death or divorce, in the afterlife couples are posthumously tied in holy matramony, even if a woman lost her husband in WW11, remarried 50 years ago and celebrated their Golden Wedding, the first marriage is the only one the LDS believes is the true marriage, if was a marriage before God. (at least that is how it was explained to me by an LDS Bishop some 15 years ago) i have no reason to believe i misunderstood or they got it wrong, especially as i know that the DFs Church posthumously baptise their ancestors into the LDs faith, which is why they do their family history.
so what about the polygamy? I believe it's officially gone but...

I don't know jno, the Bishop I used to tutor with always refused to enter into debate about that

hm, should've asked his wives, dot
Well Marie Osmond is divorced..........................
