Am I the only one who gets just slightly miffed when people don't say thanks after you've helped them with a question? Or am I just sad and needy? ;)

not sad, but destined to become so if you hope things will change. Polite people say Thank you; inconsiderate ones don't, and there are plenty of inconsiderate ones around.
thanx

no purplelily, you are neither sad or needy. I rarely have a thanks either! Have noticed you do tend to get ignored if the colour of your name is this certain shade of green though!!

P.S i hope you'll say thanks to all the people who reply to your message- you could have a few!!!

Arrrggh, just got an 'error on page' when I first tried to post a response - how embarrassing would THAT have been?

...I thank you all profusely from the bottom of my huge heart, for responding in such a timely and eloquent manner. Please accept 3 sparkling red asterisks each as a testament to my appreciation. x.

us greenies don't know what were doing at all eh??!!! i quite like my colour, i want to keep it. don't be meanies to the greenies!
You will soon know who to avoid. There are individuals on here with their own 'special' friends and are only interested in their opinions. I am quite used to being ignored and I really couldnt give a r@ts @ss! People with genuine questions and concerns will normally thank you for your contribution.

Thanks guys, you're all making me feel a lot better.

jno - <sighs> I don't expect things to change, unfortunately :( maybe I've just been spoilt by having lots of lovely people around me!

monkeymayhem - why are we green? Is it 'cos we're newbies or something - I like it!! Yay!

alijangra - how strange that people treat the site this way - aren't there chat rooms around for that kinda stuff?

Okay guys, think I might just be over it now - I shall moan nae more. x

p.s. Answerbank's being all funny with me and stopping me leaving feedback stars and answers - it's trying to make me look like a fool, like a FOOL!

yay i got stars!

OOPS, was so excited at getting 3 shiney golden stars i forgot to answer your question, yes greens are newbies but only for the first two weeks, then we go to black (boo) but then we might just be accepted into the group! oh the excitement ;)

I've given many an answer to folks who can't be bothered to say "Ta" and to me it's nothing less than ignorance. It takes only a few seconds but that's too long for some folk, obviously. It's a sad state of affairs but there's not a lot we can do about it.

alijangra is one of my fave abers! they pay so much attention to what is going on
hmmm Dot, not quite sure how to take that... please elaborate!! lol

thanks for all the answers you have given me and for the ones you are going to give me.... :)

Right back atcha in advance, Poglet!! x

hi purple, you are right it only takes a minute to say thank you, well in my case 5 minutes cos I can only type with one finger!!! wouldn't say you were sad,are you needy though???

can I ask, do you check back on the questions you have answered then? because I am a culprit for doing that (not thanking) as I thought only the poster got an email to state they had an answer etc so didnt think that the answerer would return to the question, but if its answerbank etiquette then may I take the opportunity to apologise and thank those who have helped me in the past!

Thanks again all who answered (am I overdoing the thanks now?).

In A Pickle - ahh, I really love your last sentence. How do you keep track of the number of questions answered? Is the data held somewhere on the site? I don't really need to know, just want to bump you up to that 3000!!

raysparx - always needy, sadly. p.s. Are you a sparx?

daftpixie - I feel awful now! I must admit, I don't generally go back to a question I've answered just to see whether I have a thank you, but if it's a question I'm particularly interested in (and these are the ones I generally answer), I often check back to see what other responses have been.

Hi purple, good point you raised, sorry to say for my sins, yes I am a sparx, not a very original username, but easy to remember at my age,cos it's the same as my e-mail name, take care,Ray

I don't think you are the only one, since I have read a similar post before, but I have to admit that personally I don't care.
Often I don't even go back to a question after answering it, so I would never know if people thanked me...
