HELP!! This is a real long shot but it's driving me mad.

A few years ago (say within the last 5 years) I read a book. It was a contemporary novel set in modern day St Ives, Cornwall. The main character was a woman (called Alice I think) - wife and mother - who used to go and sit on The Island ( a landmark in St Ives) to peruse on the state of her life. I thought it was by Judy Astley but I've bought all her books at car boots and it wasn't her.

SO why is this a long shot - well I don't know any more details than that. I did post this question last year but had no joy and as summer comes around it comes to mind again. Can anybody suggest ANY novels set in St Ives???? It's driving me mental.

Are you sure that you've checked all of Judy Astley's novels? It sounds like 'Away From It All' to me:
